Card Chain Challenge - January 2020

Hi there, I hope you are having a happy Sunday!

It's the second day of the month, which means it's time for another fabulous Reveal over at The Card Chain Challenge.

Our theme options for January were a fun sketch...

A palette of lovely colours...

Plus themes of Anything New, bears or friendship and dies.

I was delighted to send this card to the lovely Robyn in Australia. As you can see I embraced the option of bears and the colours. I loved using a cute Jane's Doodles set in combination with those beautiful trees from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous and couldn't believe how easily the card came together.

I was thrilled to receive this beautiful card from Greta in Oregon, USA. Greta was concerned that the card was a little muted, but I LOVE it and think the colours look soft and elegant against the kraft.

If you'd like to see the whole Reveal please head here and while you are there why not check out the challenge for February too.

Lost Coast - Walk of Fame

I spotted an intriguing challenge: Walk of Fame over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and decided that I'd play along.

My original idea was to use an Audrey Hepburn image (may still happen!), but then I came across this stamp and went off in a completely different direction!

This is Annie Oakley from Technique Junkies and I love the quote. It's not easy to read on this picture: 'I ain't afraid to love a man. I ain't afraid to shoot him either.' This may or may not be hubby's Valentine's card. I do feel sorry for my husband as he is married to my sense of humour.

Just been reading about Annie - she was quite a gal!

My vision for this card is that she's standing on a mountain, with the tops of the trees below her. Not sure if it comes across that way, but I did enjoy using those gorgeous Stampers Anonymous Tree Line stamps again. Such a useful addition to my stamp collection as they are so versatile.

There are some fun cards in the Lost Coast gallery and some fab makes from the DT. This really is a little gem of a website to visit.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #152 - A is for Anti-Valentine

Hi there, snark fans, it's Saturday and it's time for a little fun with the sistahs again. For this fortnight we are offering a theme that did the sisterhood proud as their very first challenge A is for Anti-Valentine back in February 2014.

I had heaps of fun creating a card for this challenge and broke out one of my favourite images: Jean Still Living from Art Impressions.

Fun isn't she!

We have a frequent player as our queen, and once again she's done us proud.

Please head on over and see all the fabulously snarky fun on offer!

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #27 - Penguin Parade

It's mid-month reminder time over at The Christmas Kickstart for Challenge #27 - Penguin Parade.

I broke out this adorable set from Mama Elephant (Cool Penguins) to create this cute, CAS card. The patterned layer is a beautiful background stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Kaleidoscope Leaves Background.

The challenge runs until Monday 3rd February. You can join the fun by heading here.

I'm also linking this card to the challenge over at Creative With Stamps. My former teamies have a challenge on called Scarf, so I think this card fits the bill quite nicely!

I'm also linking to a new Christmas Challenge which I've spotted, run by Jacqueline and Mynn.

Good luck with your new venture, ladies, and thanks for a fun Anything Goes Challenge.

Have a happy, crafty Sunday, peeps.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #151 - H is for Headache

Poor Edna, we've all been there haven't we. I hope she wasn't over indulging with the adult beverages on New Year's Eve!

Yes, it's all about headaches over at The Sisterhood for our first challenge of 2020.

As always, I needed a little inspiration from Google to get my mojo revved up and running.

I love this image from VLVS; she seems to work just right with the sentiment!

My teamies have created some fabulous cards and you'll love our new Queen's take on the theme, so please head on over and take a look!

Lost Coast Designs Challenge #90 - Anything Goes!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2020 brings you happiness, peace and lots of crafting.

Well, just look at me keeping one of my new year resolutions by playing along at Lost Coast Designs!

Host Gail is breaking us in nice and easy with an Anything Goes theme for Challenge #90 - that's some milestone, guys, well done!

I inked up this fun VLVS image and paired it with computer generated wording. I decided I wanted to go monochrome, so left the image uncoloured. I used one of my favourite Simon Says Stamp stamps (Circle Doodle Background) to create the background layer.

This card is for my parents-in-law to thank them for their presents and their company on Boxing Day. I hope they like it, and yes, MIL  Pam's sherry trifle is amazing!

Edited to add:
I wondered what a coloured version of this card would look like and made another, this time for my mom. Nobody makes better mince pies in the whole world!

Not sure which I prefer...

Happy crafting, everyone!
