The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #181 - L is for Layers

Another utterly brilliant graphic from Sister Lee can only mean one thing... Yes, it's time for another challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

This challenge is all about LAYERS, and I couldn't resist getting a little punny with this one: chickens/hens/layers - geddit?

The layers are layered, so I've got it covered from all angles! These very sweet hens are Picket Fence Studios.

The Sisterhood went off in many different directions for this challenge and I know you'll love their creations, so please come and take a look!

Black and White

I love making black and white cards, so was delighted to find that Color Hues Challenge #14 has Black and White as the current theme.

I broke out my newest stamp set (thanks to my mail person for helping me acquire this!) and got her inked-up. Isn't she fun? She's an older image from Mary Engelbreit and I love that little bit of 'tude that she's got going on.

I used a tiny snippet of design paper (Which I've been hoarding for about ten years) to give her something to stand on. I think this qualifies my card to go play at Pixie's Snippets Playground again for Challenge #398.

What a fun challenge this is, and Di is such a lovely host. I'm just sorry it took me so long to find my way there!

I'm heading to the post box and then back into the craft room for the rest of the day. Keep crafting and keep safe everyone!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #48 - Reminder

I'm delighted to have The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and our fabulous mascot, Edna, with me this month over at Christmas Kickstart as we play Challenge #48 - Green Christmas.

If you'd like another look at what the sistahs created please click here.

For my 'reminder card' I've come up with this humorous little number:

Aren't they fun? I'm not sure if this set is still available on the Hobby Art site, but I've found a link to a set here. I really enjoyed putting this card together.

For his Random Raffle prize this month Rudolph has bagged a cheeky little sentiment stamp from Crafter's Companion.

Feeling inspired? We'd love you to come and play along!

H'atta Girl!

It's all about HATS at Lost Coast Designs for the next couple of weeks!

I was disappointed to miss the previous challenge, so decided to get my card made as soon as possible to avoid missing out again!

I really like these cute AI gals and their fabulous hats. I wasn't sure about colour combos when I started the card and so copied the packaging picture as the blues and purples look so nice together. My simple Distress Ink background is a nice backdrop for the ladies.

I'm also playing at Week #615 - Allsorts Challenge Blog where they are looking for A Stamped Image.

 Keep crafting and stay safe!

Let's Squash It! Challenge #6 - Boxing Clever with Floral Embossing

It's time to break out your embossing folders and get squashing as we start a new challenge over at Let's Squash It!

This month we're asking you to BOX CLEVER and create an embossed box. We have a fabulous guest on hand to inspire us and there will be additional posts along the way to get your mojo moving!

I need very little excuse to grab my Lawn Fawn Pillow Box die and get cutting. This handy die makes creating cute pillow boxes an absolute breeze.

I think these two are my favourites:

Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the embossing folder as it's another oldie, but I'm pretty sure it's a Crafts Too folder. The sweet cup on the tag is from Jane's Doodles and the letter 'C' is from a very old alphabet set from Hero Arts.

Please come and join the fun over at Let's Squash It!

Coffee or Tea?

I'm delighted to have stumbled across a new challenge blog called Make the Cards.

They've already reached Challenge #7 and when I saw the theme I knew I was going to play along!

I broke out some MFT goodies for this one: Roses All Over, Cup of Tea Clear Set and Tea Party dies set. I can only find a link for the first of these.

I began by embossing the tea set in gold and then sponged on some Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. While it looked pretty it looked a little flat, so I did some smooching in the same colour and liked the effect.

The background in stencilled in AALL Create Stencil #56 using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

It's such a pity that my photographical abilities haven't done this one justice as it looks great IRL!

Make the Cards Challenge has some stellar DT members and their inspiration for this challenge is gorgeous. I think this is going to be one to watch and I'm looking forward to joining in future challenges!

Stay safe and keep crafting, everyone!
