And the winner is.....

A very big thank you to all you lovely ladies who took part in my Race for Life Blogcandy draw, I'm just sorry that there was only one voucher up for grabs.
So, chosen by the very technical 'names-in-a-bowl' method, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the lovely Gay Peplow, aka Mustavcoffee, from Crafty Musings has won £25.00 of crafting gift vouchers from BunnyZoe's Crafts. Wooohooo for you, and please don't forget to email me so that I can arrange to send you your prize.

Thanks again to everyone who donated to the Grice's Girls Team page or sent their good wishes ahead of the event. So far we've raised £386.00, and I know the totals will rise as individual sponsorship monies are sent in. Anyone still wishing to donate to the Grice's Girl's page to support the work of Cancer Research can click here, but please note that my blogcandy draw is now closed.

Here's a few pictures of our day:

Proving that we know all the words, if not all the moves to YMCA during the warm-up. We can spell but we can't dance!

And remembering the reason that we were all running today - beautiful Shell.

Heading for the start...

Here we go!

What's pink and looks like a Dalmatian???

Grice's Girl's lookin' good...

 Hurry up you two!

Celebrating with our medals at the finish...
...by pulling funny faces!

Thanks again to everyone who donated/sponsored Grice's Girls.

My Race for Life - for Shell

I'm just dropping by to share a picture from the Telford Race for Life which I 'ran' (LOL!) today in memory of my dear friend Shell. A quick left to right is Emelia, Gay, me and Karen (who did the organising of the Grice's Girls team).
I'll be back tomorrow with more pictures, and to pick the winner of my £25.00 Blogcandy.
If you'd like to donate £2.00 to enter the draw please click here and follow the links.
Thanks to everyone for your donations and good wishes...

In training for the big event...

Hi everyone, it's a glorious morning here in Birmingham - so good to see some sunshine again!

I hope it stays sunny at the weekend as it's the Telford Race for Life on Sunday and as regular visitors will know I'm joining 'Grice's Girls' running in memory of my friend Shell. If anyone would like to donate £2 by clicking here you'll go into my Blogcandy draw for a £25 voucher for BunnyZoe's. Just leave the message 'Jo's friend...' and your name on the donation page.
We were aiming to raise £250 but thanks to the sweet girls of Blogland and the generosity of  Shell's friends and family we have so far raised £326!

Here's a picture of me lookin' good in training...

or is this more accurate???

Anyhoo, here's my card for today, it's one I've been asked to make.
I've had so many commissions recently that no wonder I haven't had time to train (good excuse???).

This card is for my friend's son to send to his sister. I hope they like it as it didn't quite turn out as I'd planned. The image is called Tiny Toby from Some Odd Girl, and I love the fact that you can personalise the card by adding a larger tag to the gift.

I'm entering this card for The I love Promarkers challenge 'Anything Goes' and Challenge #150 at a Passion for Promarkers (Happy Birthday Girls!)

Must get busy now as I've loads to do... I'll be back later with a coffee in hand to do some visiting!

My cat did not approve...

...when I told him that I'd accidently given out incorrect information about my Race for Life Sponsorship!

Girls, what can I say??? I am so sorry for not knowing that the minimum amount that you could donate over on the Race for Life Sponsorship site was £2.00 and not £1.00 as I had thought.
Please accept my most sincere apologies, I am totally embarassed and realise that I therefore now owe an even greater debt of gratitude to everyone who has taken part so far.

So, let's see if I can get it right this time: to enter my candy draw to win this yummy voucher
you'll need to click here and make a £2.00 donation on the Grice's Girls Sponsorship page.

I'm also doing other fund raising activities and on Thurday night raised a whopping £18.00 by selling my handmade cards to the members of my Mom's ladies group.

Apologies, and red-faced hugs to you all....

Butterfly bon voyage

Here I am back to share another card for the current colour challenge over at Less is More, which doubles as my entry for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Top Tip Tuesday.

All stamps are from Hero Arts with the exception of the 'Bon Voyage', which is from Lawn Fawn.

I created the central circle with a little help from my fabulous new template!

I've just discovered that waste scraps of laminated card can be run through a Cuttlebug to make brilliant templates, which wipe clean after use.

A little distressing and stamping...

...then remove the template and stamp your other images. Your template can be then be cleaned and put away until next time.
How's that for a thrifty Tuesday top tip... on a Thursday!!

And finally, I'm still looking for kind blogging buddies to sponsor me £1.00 in the Race for Life in a couple of weeks time. I'll be puffing my way around the course to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of a dear friend who recently lost her battle with this terrible disease. Anyone who sponsors me will go into the draw to win a £25.00 crafting gift voucher for BunnyZoe's Crafts.
You can click here to go to the fund raising page which I share with my teamies and donate in a few simple clicks using Paypal.

Thanks to everyone who has already donated, so far you've helped me to raise £19.00!!!
Big mwah's to you all for your kindness and generosity.

Happy crafting everyone...

Less is more - yellow

Opening the page today over at Less is More this week is like opening the door into a sunny, spring garden! This is because it's a colour challenge this week, and the girls have chosen 'Yellow'.

I have to say that at first I though 'Mmmmmm, not sure about this one...' but then I got cracking and suddenly realised that I should feature more yellow in my cards as its so bright and cheery.

Here's my first little offering, made with Art Journey (thanks for the correction Paula) inchies and Distress inks. After creating the background with Scattered Straw and a touch of Victorian Velvet, I stamped in Versafine and embossed with clear powder. This stuck to the black ink and the Distress inks and created a really lovely effect.
I've only recently discovered inchies but I can see that I'm likely to become an inchy-addict as they are so much fun. Expect to see more inchies appearing here in subsequent posts... you have been warned!

If you're looking for my Blogcandy post please click here.

I'm running in the Telford Race for Life at the end of the month and am looking for Blogging buddies to sponsor me just £1. Anyone who sponsors me will go into the draw to win a £25.00 voucher for BunnyZoe's Crafts. I'm running in memory of my beautiful friend Shell who lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer in March aged only 38 years old.
Thanks to some wonderful Bloggy mates we've already raised £17.00 - you rock girls, love you!

But remember, as the lovely twinkly-eyed Dale Winton would say 'you've got to be in it to win it' so why not have a go? You'll be donating to Cancer Research AND you might win £25.00 worth of crafting goodies.

You can click on Dale's picture to go straight to the sponsorship page I share with my teamies...

Happy crafting everyone!
