The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #138 - B is for the Birds and the Bees

A pigeon on your head AND a bun in the oven - Edna, you are a case!

We're all about the birds and the bees at The Sisterhood for this challenge.

My original idea for this challenge was totally different, but then I saw a meme and instantly knew which stamp I'd use to turn it into a card.

The rather fabulous cat is from Technique Junkies and the decorative border uses part of a very old Hero Arts stamp.

The sisterhood have really gone to town on this challenge and I know you'll love their hilarious takes on the theme, so why not head on over and take a look!

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #13 - Glitter, Sparkle and Shine.

It's time for another fun challenge over at The Christmas Kickstart.

For this challenge I'm delighted to welcome a new elf: Greta from GG Creations!

You'll love Greta's card for this challenge; it's a real beauty and she's done a great job using one of the following products much beloved by us crafters:

Glitter, Sparkle and Shine!

For this challenge we'd like to see anything that glitters, sparkles or shines on your card: glitter, gems, mirror card - it's all good!

My take on the theme goes with minimal sparkle, but hopefully shows that sometimes less is more. This card is soooo twinkly IRL as there's Wink of Stella on the background and the bow, but you'd never know it!

The cute cat and the sentiments are all from MFT.

My second card also makes use of minimal bling and, once again, looks far lovelier IRL than the photograph as the larger gems are blue. The pretty wreath is an oldie from Penny Black, which I love.

I created a bokeh-like effect by adding larger and larger water drops to the background.

Rudolph has a very cute Random Raffle prize on offer:

I very much hope you'll come and play with Greta and myself for this challenge.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Challenge #137 - M is for Menopause

Poor Edna, those hot flushes are cruel! Yes, we are taking a snarky side-swipe at the menopause for the new challenge over at the Sisterhood.

I decided to mix a cute unicorn from Lawn Fawn with a meme for a little post-menopausal fun!

We've got a new queen and a whole load of fun awaiting you at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, so why not drop by and take a look!

The Christmas Kickstart Challemnge #12 - The Elves and the Shoemaker

A new fortnight brings a new challenge at The Christmas Kickstart, and it also brings a new elf!

For this challenge I'm delighted to welcome Marina from My Perfect Life and The Library Challenge.

Marina's The Library Challenge quickly established itself as one of my favourites when she launched it February 2018. It's for crafters who love reading (that would be me then) and the idea is that Marina picks a book as inspiration and everyone creates a card on that theme. Here's the cover/title that Marina chose for Challenge #12 - isn't it a beauty?

I'm sure you'll agree there's so much to inspire us cardmakers in this cover!

Here's what I came up with:

Card #1 features a sleepy VLVS elf leaning on some paper pieced presents - perhaps Santa has been working him too hard in the workshop!

I'm also going to link this little guy to CAS Christmas as their current challenge is Gifts.

My next two cards are very CAS and not my usual style, but I had fun making them.

I decided that I wanted elf shoes or similar on a card to pick up the shoe-making theme. I was delighted to spot this fabulous elf shoe stencil over at The Stencil Studio and knew I had to get it. I'm going to have so much 'Elf on the Shelf' fun with this at Christmas! The sentiment is from MFT.

I'm going to enter this card over at Shopping our Stash (The sentiment stamp is an oldie!) as the theme for this fortnight is Stencil Me This

There's also a lovely stencil challenge over at A Place to Start - Stencil Me In: Use your Favourite Stencil. I think this one is already on my Top 10 of favourite stencils. Thanks for the push in that direction, Chana

For my final card I focused in on the pretty, blue bead and the elf to create this very clean, graphic make.

The elf is from Stamping Bella and the sentiment from the fabulous, and much lamented, Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I hope you'll feel similarly inspired by this cover and that you'll come play along with myself and Marina for Challenge #12 at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge. I'm sure you'll also want to visit Marina's The Library Challenge to join her for her latest book-themed outing, which is inspired by a stripey read until June 15th.

The Card Chain Challenge May 2019 Reveal

It's another lovely Reveal over at The Card Chain Challenge!

This month we offered players a bright and cheery colour combo and a fun sketch:

and further options of insects, food, friendship or metal charms.

I sent my card to Dawn in NZ and opted for insects as I thought she'd like the butterflies from this Wplus9 set I was lucky enough to win from the lovely Donna a little while ago.

I was lucky enough to receive this stunning card from Joanne, who pulled in the insect theme and the sketch too.

The June sign-up is running for a few more days, so why not come and play along in this ever-so slightly addictive challenge.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - F is for Family

Don't you just love seeing Edna's maternal side?

For this fortnight we're all about families over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and boy, did the gang have fun with this theme!

Here's my offering:

My idea was to make it look like an old photograph, but I'm not sure that really worked. It does look much, much better in real life but was impossible to photograph! The paper doll and the DPs are all by Tim Holtz and the sentiment is a bit of Google magic!

As always, we have a new Queen in residence and I know you'll love her card, so why not head on over and join in the snarky fun!
