Make it Crafty - Felicity

Meet the lovely Felicity! From the moment I saw her she made me think of my sweet niece. My niece loves her shorts, thick tights and boots, so I thought this image would be perfect for her Christmas card.

Allow me a proud auntie moment! I love that she's toasting her success in getting her new belt with orange juice.

Here's a close-up of Felicity's sweet face, and her gorgeous hat and scarf.

This will be my final post as a guest over at Make it Crafty. I'd like to say a big thank you to Zoe and the regular DT girls for making me feel so welcome!

Make it Crafty - Emily

This is my penultimate outing as a guest over at Make it Crafty. Time flies when you're having fun!

I made this card for my sister-in-law, using the delightful image Emily Sitting Politely. This is such a pretty image, and I really loved colouring her to look a little bit like my SIL.

The background was coloured with Distress Ink and I stamped a sentiment and flowers from the Concord and 9th Happy Day Stamp set.

One of the things I like best about digital stamps is that you can resize them, crop them and flip them. I cropped Emily for this card as I just wanted a head and shoulders view. I coloured with Promarkers and Prismacolour pencils.

BTW, did you know you can now follow Make it Crafty on Instagram?

Have a happy day!

Make it Crafty - Jacinta Sitting Dreaming

Hi everyone!

It's that time of the year when I begin to struggle to get decent photographs, so please forgive that today's card looks a little pale.

This card features Make it Crafty's sweet Jacinta. Isn't she a beauty? I love the fact that she looks like she's sitting on a jetty, dangling a leg towards some cool water, on a hot sunny day.

I loved colouring Jacinta with my Promarkers, and then adding a few low-lights in her hair with pencil crayons. Two dragonfly chippies add to the idea of a hot summer's day.

Such an easy card to make and such a delightful image to colour!

There are two other Jacinta images available at Make it Crafty, along with a multitude of other gorgeous digis.

Make it Crafty - Chippies Rock!

I was totally delighted to receive a package of 'Chippies' from the lovely Zoe at Make it Crafty. To be honest, I never got into chipboard embellies because I didn't know how to colour them or how to use them.

Well, let me tell you that Zoe's chippies are great! They're slim and dainty,  they colour beautifully and are very easy to fix to your card. I embossed the leaves with Versamark and gold embossing powder and coloured the dragon flies and wording with Distress Ink and a light dusting of embossing powder. So easy and so effective!

Zoe has a great selection of chipboard embellishments in her store and all items are very reasonably priced. I especially like the over-sized 'backing' layers that are available with some of the words to help make your word pop!   You can find everything here: Make it Crafty.

Make it Crafty - Chelsea

Hi guys, welcome to another Make it Crafty post! This week my card features the gorgeous Chelsea

Isn't she just the sweetest? When I looked at the inspiration cards in the gallery over at MIC, I saw Faye's beautiful colour combo and knew I wanted to use it for my card. I love warm grey and lime together as they are such a cosy combo!

Here's a little close-up of her sweet face.

There really are some beautiful images (and great backgrounds) over at Make it Crafty. If you are looking for colouring fun, why not drop by and take a look!

Make it Crafty - Have a Magical Birthday!

Today, I'm delighted to be sharing a card made using another gorgeous Krista Smith image from Make It Crafty. This adorable little girl, and her equally adorable Unicorn, feature in the new collection called Dreamy Wishes. This sweet image is called Unicorn Dreams, and the two other images in the collection are a gorgeous fairy and a magical mermaid.

I coloured with a whole heap of Promarkers and then added the details with Prismacolour pencils. I knew straight away that I wanted this to be a 'purple' card because, for some reason, purple seems to me to be such a magical colour.

Do you like the Unicorns golden horn and rainbow mane? Such fun to colour. And doesn't he have just the happiest expression!

Originally, the little girl started as a blonde, but once I'd created the background she looked pale and lost, so I went to work with my Prismacolors and she became a brunette.

To find this image, and the others in the Dreamy Wishes Collection, head on over to the Make It Crafty shop!

Make it Crafty - My Kinda Guy!

It's week three of my time guesting over at Make it Crafty and this week I've chosen a masculine image for my card! Meet Surfer Dad!

Isn't he gorgeous??? And he irons too - he's my kinda guy!

Sadly, this gorgeous hunk of domesticity is currently only available as a digital stamp - sorry ladies he's not available in real life! You can grab him here in the Make it Crafty store, and you'll love the additional images that come as part of this package.

Make it Crafty - Oops!

Hi there, I'm sharing a new second card as I guest again with the Make it Crafty team.

Once again, I'm using one of the fabulous Funky Girls images by Krista Smith. This one is called 'Relax with Wine' and judging by her ever-so slightly blissed-out expression, this is a well earned drink at the end of a hard day!

I loved colouring her skin and clothing, but didn't manage to get her hair looking quite the way I wanted. I know I'll be using this adorable image again, so perhaps I'll end up with a better result next time.

You can find 'Relax with Wine' in the Make it Crafty shop here.

The background is made of some leftover stenciled card, over-stamped with a gorgeous Hero Arts flower image and the embellishments are bits and pieces from my scrap box.

Thanks for dropping by!

Make it Crafty - Frappe Birthday!

So, I'm finally able to share a little secret I've been sitting on for the last couple of weeks!
Guess who is guesting today, for the first time, on the Inspiration blog at Make it Crafty!

I was blown away when Zoe got in touch, following the Funky Girls Blog hop, to offer me the chance to guest through August and September. I'm nowhere near as talented as the regular DT ladies, but I do love colouring - even if I still have a lot to learn!

For my debut post, I've chosen to colour the gorgeous Frappe Delight, from The Funky Girls Collection by the amazingly talented Krista Smith.

I've long been a fan of Krista's beautiful work and always love how modern and stylish her images are. Being a Promarker girl, I've coloured her hair with ginger and terracotta shades, before adding the high-lights and low-lights with my Prismacolour pencils. The pretty die-cut is from MFT and the paper is some I've cherished for ages, but now can't find the pad cover. I generated the sentiment on my PC.

Do you like my new badge? I certainly do, and will wear it with pride over the next few weeks!

The Make it Crafty blog offers a veritable feast of colouring info and tutorials, plus some rather lovely digital stamps, so why not head over and take a look!

Have a fun day!
