Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #109 - U is for Underwater

Poor Edna, the things she has to go through as our mascot. Let's just hope she's planning a Houdini escape from this tricky situation.  

Yes, we have a fun new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers starting today - U is for Underwater.

Turns out that I don't seem to have any mermaid stamps - who knew! Thankfully, I do have this cute little kraken from Loveable Legends by Lawn Fawn, so was able to come up with a card for this challenge. I had no idea what colour a kraken should be so opted for grey as I thought it would look nice against the blue. 

Our special guest and the team have really done a fabulous job with this challenge, so please come on over and join in!

Let's Squash It! Challenge #10 - Geometric and Repeating Patterns

This month we're all about Geometry and Repeating Patterns over at Let's Squash It! 

I've really enjoyed creating cards for this challenge as there's something just so satisfying about geometric designs. Looks like quite a few of you agree as we've got some gorgeous cards in the challenge gallery!

For my card I created a very quick and easy background using Distress Oxides, my Gel press and a favourite We R Memory Keepers EF. Don't you love the colours, I know I do!

 

The little kitty stack is from Art Impressions. I always enjoy colouring cats and giving them all their own individual little looks. I'm quite pleased with this little card; that oh, so simple geometric background really makes it!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #208 - L is for Layers

Another magical Edna from Sister Lee signals the start of another challenge at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. As you can tell from our fabulous cut-away Edna we're all about LAYERS for the next two weeks. 

While I always admire crafters who can use layers of DP to gorgeous effect I'm not really  big on working with layers of paper myself, so I decided to do some layered stencilling and stamping. 

I'm loving the leaf designs from Rubber Dance - they stamp beautifully. No points for guessing that my 'game old bird' and the fun sentiment come from VLVS!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #61 - Reminder

 

It's reminder time for Challenge #61 over at Christmas Kickstart! This month I'm delighted to be joined once again by my buddy Gail AKA Crafty Nomad, as she provides the inspiration for us. BTW, it's Gail's birthday on April 22nd, so why not drop by at her blog and leave her some love!

Challenge #61 - From My Gnome to Yours!

Here's the card I made inspired by Gail's uber cute gnome. I liked that Gail had made her gnome take centre stage on her card, so I did the same.

I paper-pieced his hat from a tiny snippet of Christmas paper and added a second beard and body over the top of the first to give depth. He's doing a little 'jazz hands' for us. I know the gnome and sentiment are from a magazine giveaway, but I've lost the packaging.

Card #2 uses stamps from Merry Gnomes by Jane's Doodles. I do enjoy using these adorable little stamps. Do you like his spotty hat? Such fun to colour.

I hope you like the sweet little gnome guy that Rudolph has chosen as our Random Raffle prize for this month. Anyone who enters and has followed the guidelines will be eligible to go into the drawer to win this little cutie.

Let's Squash It! Challenge #19 - Without Geometry, Life is Pointless.

 

We've got a fun new challenge on offer over at Let's Squash It! starting today and running until April 30th! Gail and I would like to see Embossing Folders with Geometric Shapes and/or Repeating Patterns, please.

I had way too much fun making this little card! The MFT bees are so cute (Honey Bees) and I'm really pleased with how the Kaisercraft Embossing Folder Honeycomb gave a lovely deep, crisp emboss to the Bazzils card. Unfortunately, I can't find a link to the EF and can only assume it's gone out of stock. 

I always like geometric pattern embossing folders and think they can make great backgrounds especially for masculine cards. I was going to head that way until this crazy little idea came into my head!

I do hope you'll come and play along with Gail and me as I think we all need a little Geometric Fun in our lives from time to time!

A Tiny Craft #7 - Masculine

Today, I'm delighted to play along with the gals over at A Tiny Craft! If you've not yet discovered this fun ATC challenge then please head on over and take a look! 

Emboldened by my ATC made for The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - A is for ATC (still open for entries, folks!) I decided to try and make something for A Tiny Craft Challenge #7 - Masculine.

This is what I came up with:

A big thank you to my snarky sister Chris for sending me this VLVS image of Mr Edgar Allan Poe. The background is one of my Gelli prints stamped with gorgeous Rubber Dance leaves.

Here's what I made. Just for a change I went with a circular card.

I really like this little gnome from LOTV. Sadly, I think he's sold out now, which is such a pity. However, Rudolph has only gone and bagged that sweet little gnome guy as our Random Raffle prize for this month so if you play along you'll go into the draw to possibly win this cutie!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #207 - A is for ATC

 

We're playing A is for ATC for the next two weeks over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

The sisters are very talented when it comes to ATCs and some of the team even have their own ATC appreciation blog A Tiny Craft where they strut their stuff with other likeminded friends!

I have to admit that I find ATCs really difficult. I'm not sure why, but they kinda blow my mind. I spent most of yesterday trying to do something arty, but failed! Then I spotted this lovely floral colourable from Stamplorations and realised that it's ATC size! Wooo hooo - I added one of Sistah Chris's fabulous, pithy phrases and the job was done.

March Card Chain Challenge Reveal

We had 30 participants who exchanged gorgeous cards across the globe this month.

My recipient for this challenge was the lovely Linda in MN, USA. She's one talented lady and is such a sweet blogging buddy too. 

I just knew I had to play with the theme of 'Farm' and I couldn't resist creating a little scene with The Whole Herd from MFT for Linda's card. I love the animals on this sweet set. I did a little mirror stamping to create the little herd. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Friends by Lia Griffiths. I don't think this set is available, but you can find some of her other work by clicking the link. 

My sender for the month was the lovely Tina in Slovenia. Tina and I seem to partner-up quite often for CCC and it's always such a pleasure to receive her beautiful cards. Just look what she sent this month!
