The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #183 - M is for Monochromatic

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers have another fabulously fun challenge on offer for the next two weeks as we come over all monochromatic!

I always enjoy making black and white cards and therefore just HAD to make this card for our current challenge. Don't you just love this image and sentiment from Mary Englebreit? I think she looks great fussy cut and paired with a little leftover piece of MFT spotted paper. So simple, so easy and so much fun.

As always the sistahs have created some fabulously snarky treats for this challenge, so please come take a look and join the fun.

Let's Squash It! Challenge #7 - Reminder Post

Hi there, I'm over on the blog at Let's Squash It! today with some inspiration for our current challenge.

I created a simple Distress Ink blended background and spritzed it with a little water before running it through my Cuttle Bug using Crochet Doily from Kaisercraft. I really like this EF and you'll find it on sale in the UK at this link

The second of my three folders is this beaut. Unfortunately, it's an oldie and was purchased on eBay, so I can't share a link. However, leaf patterns are fairly easy to find so I'm sure you can track down something similar if you like the look it gives.

For my final EF of the trio I decided I wanted a pattern to pull things together. Again, this is a VERY old folder, but I like how using just a corner of the pattern gave me a leaf and some flowers for my embellishment.

Gail's Technique Time post here shared some ideas about using scraps and leftovers for creating sweet embellishments for your cards. You don't have to use all of your embossing folder all of the time - just a portion of the pattern and a little die cutting can create lovely results.

This challenge is open until the last day of April, so there's plenty of time to get creating.

Birthday Girl, Wish Big!

Hi there, it's another cool but sunny day here in the UK and my craftroom is bathed in sunshine!

I'm delighted to be playing along with two of my favourite challenges today.

Seize the Birthday is offering a Topping of Spring Flowers and Lost Coast would like to see a prominent sentiment on your card. I'm hoping this card fits the bill for both challenges.

I've coloured and fussy cut Picket Fence Studios Kendyll and paired her with a gorgeous sentiment from Colarado Crafts Lovely Legs - Birthday. The stencilling in the background was created with a Newton's Nook stencil.

I could spend all day making cards like this as I love a sweet and simple design... and a bit of kraft card.

Stay safe, and have a lovely weekend!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #49 - Reminder

Well, I don't know about you but for me this month seems to be speeding along like a sled whizzing down a mountain.

Did you see what I did there? A seamless segue from welcome to challenge theme! LOL.

Yes, it's reminder time again at Christmas Kickstart. This month our theme is:

Our lovely elfin companion for Challenge #49 is Jane from Onions and Paper.

Here's a reminder of Jane's lovely inspiration card for this challenge.

I love brown and blue together and decided to take my inspiration from Jane's colour combo for my card.

My cute penguin, the sack of pressies and the sledge are all from from a Hobby Art set called, appropriately enough, Penguins. A big thank you to my blogging bud Gail for gifting me this lovely set.

I wanted to add some embellishments, but just couldn't make it work no matter what I tried. In the end I just left it alone - sometimes you just gotta do that.

Jane and I would love to see a few more players in the gallery, so please read the rules and come join the fun! You have until Friday 30th April to play along.

Let's Squash It! Challenge #7 - Three Folders and a Person

Hi there, it's time for another fun challenge over at Let's Squash It! and this month we have a recipe for you...

We'd like to see at least three embossing folders plus a person or people on your card.

For my card I stamped and coloured gorgeous Picket Fence Studios Girl - Jordan and paired her with a Distress Ink background using Kaisercraft EF Crochet Doily, Creative Expressions Circle Illusion and Sizzix Fancy Border. As you can tell I was in the mood for bright and cheery!

Gail and I have a lovely guest with us for this challenge, but you'll have to drop by over at Squash It Central to find out who she is!

Keep safe and keep crafting!

It took a little time...

Hi there, happy Wednesday to you all. There's another fun prompt on offer over at Lost Coast and Carmen's Veranda.

I'm relived to finally complete my card for this challenge as I've been struggling with it for a few days. Thankfully, Inspiration struck in the wee small hours of this morning and I'm fairly happy with how things turned out.

I've married together two different stamps Stamp Journey Willy-Helene and Tic Toc from Kaisercraft to create the panel at the bottom of the card. I stencilled the whole card with Specked Egg, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks before stamping the images in Versa Fine.

I was thrilled to discover a lovely badge and a gift certificate waiting for me when I visited Lost Coast today. What a nice surprise - thanks so much.

If you're not familiar with this challenge why not head on over and take a look. The prizes are lovely, and the range of images and quirky sentiments available in the shop is wow! And (major enabling alert) did I mention the 25% sale?

Have a happy day!

Colour Hues #15 - Pink and Green

Hi guys, I hope you are all keeping well and that you had a lovely Easter weekend.

I was very pleased to find time to play along with the new Color Hues Challenge today.

I sometimes struggle with picking colour palettes, so having a challenge to stop me reaching for blue, blue or blue all of the time really helps!

I inked-up and coloured this gorgeous image from Picket Fence Studios. I enjoyed stenciling a background with Distress Inks and adding a sweet, circle sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

This challenge is open until 9:00 AM (EST) on April, 14th, and there are some lovely cards from the DT, GDT and also in the gallery. You can head on over and take a look at this lovely challenge by clicking here.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #49 - You Sleigh Me!

It's time for a fun, new challenge over at Christmas Kickstart. I'm delighted to be joined by a new elf, and it's my good blogging buddy Jane from Onions and Paper.

Our theme for April is:

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #49 - You Sleigh Me!

This means that we're all about sledges, sleds and sleighs for the whole of April, and I'm sure we'll even stretch to a ski or two if we have to do so!

I went with a bunny on a sledge, because who doesn't love a bunny on a sledge!

I can never resist this cute image from Lawn Fawn. Isn't he fun? I enjoyed making the trees with Distress Inks and some new dies. The dies are cheapies from eBay, but they did the job.

My next card is another favourite image, this time from Mama Elephant.

When my hubby wandered past he glanced over my shoulder at this card and asked 'How long has Santa had a pet seal?' I have to say, I can see what he means. I'm presuming that Santa's little traveling companion is a dog, but I'm not 100% sure!

For this challenge there was only one stamp Rudolph could pick as his Random Raffle Prize...

I very much hope you'll come and join the fun!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #182 - D is for Distress

There's a new challenge starting today over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as we play D is for Distress.

I had fun playing with my Distress Inks and then I inked-up a new set from The Ink Road called Karen vol. 2.

Hope you'll come and play! We have a fabulous guest and some fabulously snarky cards from the sistahs.
