Make it Crafty - Chelsea

Hi guys, welcome to another Make it Crafty post! This week my card features the gorgeous Chelsea

Isn't she just the sweetest? When I looked at the inspiration cards in the gallery over at MIC, I saw Faye's beautiful colour combo and knew I wanted to use it for my card. I love warm grey and lime together as they are such a cosy combo!

Here's a little close-up of her sweet face.

There really are some beautiful images (and great backgrounds) over at Make it Crafty. If you are looking for colouring fun, why not drop by and take a look!

Make it Crafty - Have a Magical Birthday!

Today, I'm delighted to be sharing a card made using another gorgeous Krista Smith image from Make It Crafty. This adorable little girl, and her equally adorable Unicorn, feature in the new collection called Dreamy Wishes. This sweet image is called Unicorn Dreams, and the two other images in the collection are a gorgeous fairy and a magical mermaid.

I coloured with a whole heap of Promarkers and then added the details with Prismacolour pencils. I knew straight away that I wanted this to be a 'purple' card because, for some reason, purple seems to me to be such a magical colour.

Do you like the Unicorns golden horn and rainbow mane? Such fun to colour. And doesn't he have just the happiest expression!

Originally, the little girl started as a blonde, but once I'd created the background she looked pale and lost, so I went to work with my Prismacolors and she became a brunette.

To find this image, and the others in the Dreamy Wishes Collection, head on over to the Make It Crafty shop!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #91 - W is for Weddings

So, Edna's getting hitched! Doesn't she look delighted? Big kudos to Sister Lee for another stunning graphic.

My card was huge fun to make and I think it will probably be my anniversary card for my darling hubster. We'll be celebrating thirteen happy years together next month.

The cat is from a new release over at Katzelkraft. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any stamps during August, but then I saw this guy, and the rest of his crew...

Although marriage is the theme for this challenge, we're leaving it pretty flexible and will accept cards based on the old wedding verse 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue'.

My 'Something Old' is the selection of Hero Arts stamps used for the background, my 'Something New' is the new cat stamp, I 'Borrowed' the sentiment and the card is Blue - job done!  Here's a picture of that background, before I added the top layer. You can get a look at that mix of gorgeous Hero Arts stamps: so much inky fun.

Please come see what my sistahs created for this fun challengeWe hope you join us in our W is for Weddings challenge! You just might be crowned QUEEN or PRINCESS of snark and win one of our awesome badges to display proudly on your blog!

Make it Crafty - My Kinda Guy!

It's week three of my time guesting over at Make it Crafty and this week I've chosen a masculine image for my card! Meet Surfer Dad!

Isn't he gorgeous??? And he irons too - he's my kinda guy!

Sadly, this gorgeous hunk of domesticity is currently only available as a digital stamp - sorry ladies he's not available in real life! You can grab him here in the Make it Crafty store, and you'll love the additional images that come as part of this package.

Naughty or Nice - Reminder

Is it just me, or has the middle of August appeared with Ninja-style lightning speed?

The Troublemakers are back again over at Naughty or Nice, with yet more inspiration to offer for our latest challenge: On the Move!

Here's my offering on the theme of travel and moving along. I couldn't resist this new Stampingbella stamp and have to say I'm delighted to see Uptown Girls included in the new release. I've long wished for a 'Thelma and Louise' stamp and here it is - thank you Stampingbella!

We're a little light on entries in the link-up gallery so far, so why not come and join the fun? We have beautiful badges on offer for both naughty and nice cards!

Make it Crafty - Oops!

Hi there, I'm sharing a new second card as I guest again with the Make it Crafty team.

Once again, I'm using one of the fabulous Funky Girls images by Krista Smith. This one is called 'Relax with Wine' and judging by her ever-so slightly blissed-out expression, this is a well earned drink at the end of a hard day!

I loved colouring her skin and clothing, but didn't manage to get her hair looking quite the way I wanted. I know I'll be using this adorable image again, so perhaps I'll end up with a better result next time.

You can find 'Relax with Wine' in the Make it Crafty shop here.

The background is made of some leftover stenciled card, over-stamped with a gorgeous Hero Arts flower image and the embellishments are bits and pieces from my scrap box.

Thanks for dropping by!

Rubber Dance is Sponsoring The Card Chain Challenge!

Hi there!

Sometimes it does us all good to step out of our comfort zone and try out another creative style, right? I have to say I was soooo far away from my comfort zone that we weren't even within waving distance, but boy, did I ever have fun!

This gorgeous creature is the Curious Cat from Rubber Dance. For anyone not familiar with this stamp company, this is a Norwegian stamp company with a growing collection of  beautiful, fun, and arty images.  All the deeply etched red rubber stamps are lovingly handmade by the owner Bibi in her home based workshop and sold unmounted.  Bibi has generously provided Curious Cat, which will go to one lucky blog reader who leaves a comment on this post over at The Card Chain Challenge blog. A big thank you to Bibi for acting as our sponsor this month, your kindness and generosity is much appreciated.

I really love this stamp, and I knew straight away that I wanted him to look as if he was appearing out of the undergrowth after an hour or two of footling around - such a cat thing to do!

I'm linking-up to the current challenge at Rubber Dance, which is a gorgeous palette of green, rust and magenta. Turns out that I don't have any rust coloured ink in my stash, so I opted for a deep orange as the nearest colour match I could achieve.

If you'd like the chance to win this gorgeous stamp, just head on over to The Card Chain Challenge and leave a comment before our September Challenge closes. While you are there you can read all the info about how this worldwide card exchange works, and hopefully you'll be tempted to play along. The CCC has already exchanged 2,357 cards from participants from 38 of the 50 United States AND 30 countries of the world!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #90 - M is for Mink.

Edna promises me that this fur is 100% fake, so I'm happy to show her pictured in all her furry finery!

For this challenge my sistahs want to see your fabulously furry creatures, please.

Isn't this little cat adorable? She (I'm sure she's a she) is called Kitty Watching from Technique Junkies. Technique Junkies have a huge selection of gorgeous cat stamps and every single one is just too tempting for words!

I created the ever-so-snarky sentiment on my PC and then used my Misti (it's LOVE) to get a nice, crisp image. I wasn't planning on colouring the cat, but in the end I couldn't resist and am pleased that I changed my mind. The background is some painty fun from a few weeks ago.

Please drop by, and see what the snarkettes have created to inspire you for our latest fun challenge.

Make it Crafty - Frappe Birthday!

So, I'm finally able to share a little secret I've been sitting on for the last couple of weeks!
Guess who is guesting today, for the first time, on the Inspiration blog at Make it Crafty!

I was blown away when Zoe got in touch, following the Funky Girls Blog hop, to offer me the chance to guest through August and September. I'm nowhere near as talented as the regular DT ladies, but I do love colouring - even if I still have a lot to learn!

For my debut post, I've chosen to colour the gorgeous Frappe Delight, from The Funky Girls Collection by the amazingly talented Krista Smith.

I've long been a fan of Krista's beautiful work and always love how modern and stylish her images are. Being a Promarker girl, I've coloured her hair with ginger and terracotta shades, before adding the high-lights and low-lights with my Prismacolour pencils. The pretty die-cut is from MFT and the paper is some I've cherished for ages, but now can't find the pad cover. I generated the sentiment on my PC.

Do you like my new badge? I certainly do, and will wear it with pride over the next few weeks!

The Make it Crafty blog offers a veritable feast of colouring info and tutorials, plus some rather lovely digital stamps, so why not head over and take a look!

Have a fun day!

Card Chain Challenge - July 2017 Reveal

The weeks are really flying by... I can't believe that Reveal day is here again!

We had 20 participants who exchanged cards across the globe during July (making our total number of exchanged cards 2,357 thus far!) using at least one of the following options:
Color Palette Option
or
Sketch Option
or

Theme Options: Cacti / Mythical Creatures / Friendship
or
Product/Technique Options: Hemptique Cord / Lace / Spray Inking

I received this adorable card from Cat in Maryland (gorgeous succulents AND cacti - has she secretly visited my garden???).

I sent this rather CAS creation to Sabrina in California. I was very taken with the sketch and the colours this month and really enjoyed making such a simple card, although I wish I'd been a little braver and omitted the die-cut!.

If you like to take a look at the whole reveal, please grab a coffee, settle back and click here!

Naughty or Nice Challenge #42 - On the Move!

It's August... And while I'm slightly amazed that we've slipped into another month, I'm delighted this means a brand new challenge for you over at Naughty or Nice!

This month our theme is 'On the Move' as this seems to be the time when many people are moving house, going on holiday or moving to a new school or job. This theme is kind of open ended, and the Troublemakers would love to see how you interpret it. And, for a little added fun, we're also offering a pretty colour combo option. It's an optional option, so don't feel that you have to create something with this colour palette, but it's there if you'd like to use it!

For my August offering I knew I wanted a VW Camper van, because if these little beauties don't shout 'Summer fun' I don't know what does!

I found this cute digi at Little Claires and, while it is a little sweetie, I do wish it enlarged without going fuzzy and losing clarity. I die-cut the word 'Happy' after colouring and then added some Diamond Glaze to empathise the words. Quite honestly, I'm not all that happy with how the 'Happy' turned out, but perhaps I'm just being picky. The prettily patterned Washi tape finishes the card with a hint to the British Summer (if only it did rain such beautifully coordinated drops it might not seem so bad!).

Head on over to see what my teamies have created and to join in the fun!
