Jingle Belles - The Man with the Bag

Whatever the man in red is called in your part of the world, Lauren and Stef would like to see Santa 'front and centre' on our creations for their new challenge.

I was delighted to discover this Birdie Brown Skinny Santa when I was hunting-out a digital image last week. I miss Yoshi's stamps and am glad I bought this set before she closed her digital store.

I decided to amp things up a little and so used one of my Gel prints as a background.

Here's hoping that your week is going well, happy crafting!

All I want for Christmas...

Isn't Tofu and The Snowman from Purple Onion Designs just adorable! I thought this image would pair perfectly with a sentiment from Mama Elephant.

You have to be quick to play at Rudolph Days Challenge as there's such a brief window of opportunity during which to enter. I was ready and waiting to create my card for Challenge #3. Congratulations to Helen (who is currently my guest/elf at Christmas Kickstart) for relaunching this fun challenge.

I'm delighted to join the fun at ABC Christmas Challenge playing H is for Hats.

Finally, I'm also playing at Christmas Craft Creations where the theme for this month is non-traditional colours... I'm hoping Red and Teal are non-traditional enough for the team.

I hope you're all having a good weekend!

Cute and Fluffy!

Hi all, I've finally found sufficient time, and mojo, to make a little 'thank you' card. Isn't this little cat from the Waffle Flower set 'Smiling' adorable!

The sentiment is an oldie from Simon Says Stamp called 'Thanks'. This set is similar, as the one I used is no longer available. I had fun colouring this sweet image, and then decided to create a cheery, stripey base layer with my Promarkers.

Fiki has big plans to celebrate Challenge #100 at SUYP next month, so please remember to head over and join the fun!

Jingle Belles - Peace on Earth Day

So, it turns out that April 22nd is Earth Day, and for this fortnight the lovely Jingle Belles are asking us to help celebrate by creating holiday cards that feature at least one recycled element.

I usually keep some of the cards from one Christmas to help make gift tags for the following year, so I had a small collection of potential toppers to pick from. I thought this card would be good to upcycle, so I die cut some faux stitching and added a sparkly border. Super-simple, and probably a bit of a cheat, but the card does look lovely!

I've got a few more Ideas AND some additional cards to recycle, so may play this theme again.

Thanks again to Lauren and Stef for all the fun!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #85 - Reminder

Hi everyone, we're in great company this month as we have Helen from Made By Helen as our elfin inspiration as we play...

Santa and his Sidekicks

Helen is a busy lady, and an incredibly prolific cardmaker. I'm thrilled and amazed she's managed to find time to create a second card for our challenge, which you can see over on the main blog.

Here's a reminder of Helen's 1st card for our Challenge. Isn't this fun? really makes me chuckle.

I decided to 'Go Square' for my Inspired by... card, and to pick-up on Helen's super CAS style and traditional colour combo. I also decided to include a layer of pattern paper.

The Santa from MFT Jingle All the Way was just a little too small for what I had in mind, but, years ago I bagged a digital stamp version of the guy in red, so sized him for my project and hey, presto!

The startled elf is from MFT Santa's Elves

Rudolph is offering a sweet prize for this month's Random Raffle...

Please don't forget to read the challenge guidelines at Christmas Kickstart in order to be part of the prize draw for this little snow dude.

There's still plenty of time to play this challenge, so please come and join the fun!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #249 - F is for Fold It!

Hi guys, it's F is for Fold It over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, and once again our Graphics Goddess has rocked the challenge with her latest Edna! I have no idea HOW Sister Lee comes up with such fabulous graphics, but I'm glad she does.

Here's a cute kitty card made for my friend Susan...

And the final fold...

I had so much fun making this card for Sue and hope she likes it. I always enjoy working with MFT cats; this one just called out for the addition of googly eyes.

You can find the tutorial I used by clicking here

And it turns out that the lovely folk over at Inkspirational are also into fancy folding for the next two weeks. There's some lovely inspiration from the DT!

Please, come on over and join the fun at SoSS. You'll love what our fabulous royalty and the Sisters have created for this challenge.

Jingle Belles: Cookie Inspired Christmas

Jingle Belles Lauren and Stef, have another fun theme on offer! They'd like us to take our inspiration from this gorgeous picture by Kristens.cookies.

Seriously, those cookies are just too pretty to eat!

I was inspired by the idea of festive edibles, and made sure I chose a design paper that picked-up the gorgeous colours of the picture.

I'm so enjoying working with this Penny Black Noel die at the moment.

I was browsing eBay recently and spotted Cookie Cutter Christmas by Stampin' Up! on offer for a good price. Click, click, click and it was mine. Isn't this little guy fun!

I'm sharing this card over at ABC Christmas Challenge, where I'm playing G is for Gingerbread and I'm squeeeeezing it at Penny Black Saturday Challenge, where it would appear I'm completely ignoring the Easter option, and playing Anything Goes

Thanks for dropping by!

We've now exchanged a whopping 4,259 cards by participants from 41 of the 50 United States and 33 countries. I think that's some achievement, don't you? A big thank you to Fluffy MacBunny Slippers, AKA Gail, for all she does to create the fun month after month.

Here's what I created for the challenge. My colour of choice is blue, although a little green and smidgeon of pink snuck in there too.

On the inside...

My ingredients for this card were: Simon Says Stamp! Friend Die, Hero Arts Screen Shadow Block and the wee cow from MFT The Whole Herd. I do miss seeing new images from the wonderful Birdie Brown aka Yoshi.

My card went on it's travels to Joanne in CT, USA. My sender this month was Julia in Massachusetts, USA. I wonder where my card to Joanne crossed with my card from Julia? Thanks so much for this card, Julia, I love it!

There's still time to join our current sign-up over at The Card Chain Challenge, and remember the format: make a card, send a card, receive a card... Everyone's a winner!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #85 - Santa and His Sidekicks

There's a brand new challenge starting today at Christmas Kickstart and I'm delighted to be joined this month by the lovely Helen from Made by Helen

Our theme for the whole of April is:

Challenge #85 - Santa and his Sidekicks

We'd like to see Santa, and any of his 'helpers' on your cards. Obviously, this could include Mrs. Claus (just imagine all the work involved with being Santa's other-half), plus elves, reindeer and any other relevant, festive supporters you can think of! You'll love the card Helen has created to inspire us all for this challenge. You can see it here on the main blog.

Here's my creation, featuring Santa, Rudolph and a cheeky elf!

I think this is the first time I've inked-up this square from MFT Christmas sELFies - it's such a fun image to colour. The background is so sparkly, but just doesn't show up in the picture. I used Wow Embossing Glitter with a sweet tree stencil and love the effect.

For card #2 I stayed with BB/MFT and used Jingle All The Way images. It's been ages since I last did any masking and I quite enjoyed it.

Rudolph has another sweet Random Raffle prize on offer. This little snowman fits so well with quite a few of the Colorado Craft Company Christmas/Holiday images.

Please come and join Helen and me for this fun challenge - it's never too early to make a start on your Christmas cards!
