The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - A is for Argggh!

Ahoy there! For the new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers we've gone all piratical!

For those of you who don't already know, it will be International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Monday 19th September. As you can see, Edna and her parrot friend, are fully prepared to sail the seven seas and take part in Challenge #68 which is A IS FOR ARGGGH

There was much debate between myself and hubby over whether a pirate says "Arggggh!" or "Arrrrrrrr!" and to be honest I'm still unsure. If I see any passing pirates I'll have to ask them!

The inside of this card reads 'We all have that one special friend... and let's face it, it's usually YOU!'

So please come join Captain Edna and the crew of the SS Snarky for another fun challenge!

Naughty or Nice - Challenge #31 Reminder

We've passed the mid-point in our Food and Drink challenge over at Naughty or Nice Challenges.

We've had some fabulous cards appear in our Linky gallery but we're a greedy old bunch and would love to see a few more.
For my card I went completely to the crazy-side and created this:

In my defense I will just add that I was inspired by this little piece of punny wonderfulness created by my teamie, Lindsey, for a previous NoN challenge. The wording and images were printed on my PC. I added some simple stenciling and stamped the base card with a Hero Arts favourite and coloured with some Distress ink. I had a surprising amount of fun colouring the individual pieces of cheese!

Creative With Stamps Challenge #6 - Autumn Colors Photo/Color Inspiration Reminder

It's mid-month reminder time over at Creative With Stamps!

I'm going to be honest and admit I've struggled with these colours. Yes, they are beautiful but I've found them tricky to combine in a harmonious manner which doesn't look slightly forced. Because of this I decided to 'cherry pick' just four of the colours and to use them in a very CAS way to create this simple 'thank you' card.

The pretty stamps are from WPlus9. I stamped in Distress Inks and coloured some card in the same colours to enable me to do some layering. The white an clear sequins just finish the card nicely.

My talented teamies fared much better with this challenge than myself. You can head over here to see their gorgeous and inspirational creations!

We also have some great sponsors and prizes at CWS so here are all the details to tempt you just that little bit more!

Sponsors:

3 Digital Stamps from QKR Stampede

Seize the... Balloon!

I spotted this fun fish card over at Lynne's blog a little while ago. We've cyber-known one another for quite a while and, probably as a result, have many of the same stamps and stamp sets. I couldn't resist this Avery Elle set called that BITES! so once again, thanks for being my crafting enabler, Lynne!

I've not managed to play along at Seize the Birthday for way too long so decided to take a look at the current Challenge. After finding that the additional toppings were Tags: Little or Big I played around with a few different ideas. However, I kept coming back to the idea of being as happy as a fish with a big balloon on your birthday and so made this slightly crazy card!

I created a smooshy watercolour background and then added the fussy- cut fish and his fussy-cut balloon. The die-cut was coloured with Distress Inks and then clear embossed to make it good and shiny. The fish has glittered spots, Glossy Accent eyes and a gold tooth! His balloon is held on a piece of cotton which flows from the card.

I think I've stretched the 'tag' theme a little but I hope you like the card!

I'm back to work/school tomorrow and have covered my diary to make it look less daunting.

Happy crafting, everyone!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - C is for Caffiene

Greetings, fans of Snark! Edna is in need of a little 'pick-me-up' this week and her stimulant of choice is COFFEE!

So, now that Edna is fully caffeinated, let's get down to business!

I think this sweet Saturated Canary image was a freebie. I added the wording on my PC and went with some very simple colouring. I created the background with WOW! Embossing powder, Distress Ink and as many coffee related stamps as I could lay my hands on.

I had no idea which colours to choose for this card, so took a peek over at Design Seeds and found this gorgeous palette to inspire me.

Finally, here's a fun cartoon that nearly became my card for this challenge.

Please check-out the Sister's fabulous cards for this challenge and then play along and share your snarky coffee inspired cards with us!

Card Chain Challenge Reveal - August

It's time to reveal my card for the August Card Chain Challenge. Our 'leader' the delightful Deborah is unwell right now so it's unlikely she'll be featuring the reveal on her blog as usual. I'd like to send her loads of love and get well wishes.

I sent this little piece of MFT feline foolishness to Gail in Norway and, as you can see, I actually managed to stay reasonably faithful to Deborah's sketch and colour palate.

My sender for August was Jane in the UK and what a beautiful card she sent!

Am I one lucky duck or what!
If you'd like to find out more about the Card Chain Challenge or take a look at some of the past reveals you can find all the info by visiting Deborah's blog.

Creative With Stamps Challenge #6 - Autumn Colors Photo/Color Inspiration

It's a new month and, therefore, a new challenge over at Creative With Stamps! This month we have a photo-inspiration challenge for you: a gorgeous picture and fabulous colours to set your creative pulses racing!

My card is very simple and uses one of my most favourite of Hero Arts stamps plus a little Distress Ink and some die cuts.

I made this card to send a little love to a sweet friend, who isn't having the best of times right now.

My CWS teamies have created some beautiful cards for this challenge and, as always, we have some great sponsor prizes on offer so please join us and play along.

Naughty or Nice Challenge #31 - Food or Drink!

Do we have a great challenge for you over at Naughty or Nice this month! My teamies have certainly worked some creative magic to celebrate our September theme of 'Food and Drink'!

One again, Danielle has found the perfect picture for our graphic!

My offering was such fun to make as I love colouring Art Impressions images. I found this lovely design paper in my box of single sheets and used it as the basis for my colour palette. I added some wine glass clip art for the embelishment and called it 'finished'!

Head over here and join us for Challenge #31. We'd love to see your cards featuring anything you can eat and drink: so think cupcakes, birthday cakes, french fries, coffee, tea and wine-a-plenty!
