Just not feeling the love...

Nope, still not feeling it at all... Not one bit!

Thank goodness The Sistahs have created some brilliant projects for you to enjoy.

Next time you see that box it'll have undergone a total revamp!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - N is for Not a Card!

Hi Crafters!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers have cooked-up yet another great challenge

For this challenge you can make anything you want... So long as it isn't a card.

Okay, let's be honest; I panicked over this one and had a total brain freeze. I couldn't think what to make until I remembered that I had a small, wooden box which I'd begun working on earlier in the year.

The box was already painted in Gesso so I added a layer or two of cream acrylic paint to give a good base to work on. I added stencilling and some stamping and then came to a full stop!

I quite like the effect but feel the need to add something else.

Mmmmmm, maybe a butterfly or flower? Definitely still a work in progress...

Anyhoooooo, thankfully my teamies faired better with this challenge and you can see their work over at Snark Central!

Make a Wish!

Hi everyone, my obsession with Art Impressions stamps continues unabated!

This time I've been playing with Yoga Yolanda: isn't she fabulous?
I paired her with a cupcake from Kraftin' Kimmie and a sentiment from Mama Elephant's lovely 'Labelled Messages' set.

The current challenge at Art Impressions is 'Laughing with you!' so, of course, I had to play along!

I'm also joining the linky party over at Seize the Birthday

The current toppings option is 'Dimension' and since Yolanda is raised on both dimensional tape and dots, I think she's good to go!

It's felt really odd to not be making a mid-month reminder card for Naughty or Nice Challenges this month. The regular team got to put their feet up while the new talent strutted their stuff on the blog for the reminder post. Wow, those girls are talented! You can take a look at their work by clicking here. We're a little short on entries for this challenge so far, so if you'd like to play along with the current theme we'd love to have you join us!

Here's another look at Danielle's brilliant, fun graphic to get you in the mood!

Happy crafting everyone, I hope your weekend is packed with loads of creative fun.

Creative with Stamps Challenge #2 - Mid-month Inspiration.

Hi everyone, it's a beautifully warm, sunny day outside but for some reason my brain is thinking Christmas cards!

This month over at Creative with Stamps the team want you to share your CAS cards with us. We already have some wonderful cards in the link-up gallery but you still have until the end of May to play along with us; go on, you know you want to!

My card is oh, so CAS! I'm thinking quick, simple and ripe for pre-Christmas mass-production.

I fell head over heels in stamp-love when I spotted this card on Hermine Koster's brilliant blog. It took me quite a while to find anywhere that sold these gorgeous stamps but eventually I hit the jackpot and placed an order! The super-talented Godelieve is also stamping-up-a-storm with these beauties over on her blog! Edited to add: The stamps can be found here.

Please hurry on over to Creative with Stamps to play along with Lillian, Monika and the gang.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - F is for Fugly!

Oh, my goodness! Edna, what are you wearing?

Yes, there's another fabulous, fun challenge to be had over at the Sisterhood: F is for Fugly.

For my offering, I went with the notion that there are few things in life fuglier than a truly horrendous Christmas sweater/jumper.  Hands up if you've ever been forced to wear one of these abominations during the festive season? Actually, I think this little lady (called Lulu) looks surprisingly relaxed about the whole experience but the cat's expression is priceless!

I love these wonderfully, whimsical VeraLaneStudio images by Janet Klein and knew Lulu, and her lurid sweater, would be perfect for this challenge theme. I created the background using Brushos on watercolour paper and then stamped with a favourite Hero Arts background stamp.

Why not take a look at all the fun by heading on over to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and then share your own little gems of fugliness!

April Card Chain Challenge

I think I could be looking at my future in this card...

Yes, it's Card Chain Challenge reveal day again and yes, it's another Art Impressions image from Yours Truly! I was very taken with Deborah's colour palette and got busy with a combination of  Promarkers, watercolours and distress inks to create this little scene of feline domesticity.

I sent my card to Robyn in Queensland. I was delighted to receive her email telling me my card had arrived and how much it made her smile. My sender for April was ValeryAnne.

Unusually, her card only had to travel across the country rather than half-way around the world so arrived in record time!

There is still time to sign up here for Deborah's May Challenge as the deadline is Friday 6th May.

Want to see the whole April reveal? Of course you do... So, click here!

Creative with Stamps Challenge #2 - CAS Cards

It's time for Challenge #2 over at Creative With Stamps!
I have to say that Lillian, Monika and us DT girls were simply blown-away by the number of fabulous cards submitted for Challenge #1: seems that we certainly like our butterflies in blogland!

This month we're looking for your gorgeous CAS creations; so put away your shabby chic and multi-layered wonders and come get clean and simple with us! Mmmm, having said all that, I really hope that my card is clean and simple enough!

I know that the lovely Monika loves her shoe stamps so decided to break-out this lovely set from The Ton again to make her smile. I stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with a water pen and Distress Inks, then die-cut and raised the word 'happy'. Perhaps this is what makes the card feel a bit fussy???

To see the beautiful (and far more CAS) offerings from the talented CWS girls click here and enjoy!

House of Cards - May Challenge

The House of Cards May Challenge is a real beauty!
This month Mynn and the gang want you to create a card with transparent or semi-transparent papers.

Told it was a good one didn't I!

I went for sweet and girly with my card and had a lovely time creating this little piece of prettiness which hasn't photographed very well!

I stamped two pretty Hero Arts butterflies in Versamark and then heat embossed with white powder.

I stamped a Hero Arts script stamp over some pink spotted paper and then layered with glitter paper and matching pink paper. A few gems finished a very simple but satisfying make!

As always, the HOC team have created a stunning selection of cards for this new challenge.

Naughty or Nice Challenge #27 - Hello, Cupcake!

This month The Troublemakers have got a challenge for you to really get your teeth into!

Danielle's graphic makes me chuckle: what could be cuter than a cookie monster cupcake? Is it just me or does this little guy just look too sweet to eat...

Once again, I've used Art Impressions images as these stamps are really hitting the spot for me at the moment. The cupcakes are part of a larger image which I've trimmed down.

I really struggled to add the wording to this card and I'm still not 100% happy with how it looks even now. However, I am pleased with the simple stencilled background.

Last month, over at Naughty or Nice, we began our search for new design team members. Today is the big announcement so why not drop by and find out who will be joining the team. You can also a look at the other cupcake-related creations on offer while you're there and maybe even decide to play along this month!
