The Sisterhood of Snarky Stamps Challenge #94 - P is for Pink Halloween.

I soooo want a hat like Edna's... And an eyeball corsage too!

Edna is resplendent in her Pink Halloween attire as once again the Sisterhood go Pink For Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Far too many of us (or someone we love) have been impacted by breast cancer, so we're doing our bit to raise awareness about just how important it is keep a regular check on them precious boobies!

This is one of the Sistah's favourite challenges, and we hope that you will play along!!

I'm also linking to Darnel's fabulous NBUS Challenge as I finally broke-out my cobweb Tim Holtz embossing folder. So much inky happiness with this Never Before Used Stuff!

Make it Crafty - Felicity

Meet the lovely Felicity! From the moment I saw her she made me think of my sweet niece. My niece loves her shorts, thick tights and boots, so I thought this image would be perfect for her Christmas card.

Allow me a proud auntie moment! I love that she's toasting her success in getting her new belt with orange juice.

Here's a close-up of Felicity's sweet face, and her gorgeous hat and scarf.

Make it Crafty - Emily

This is my penultimate outing as a guest over at Make it Crafty. Time flies when you're having fun!

I made this card for my sister-in-law, using the delightful image Emily Sitting Politely. This is such a pretty image, and I really loved colouring her to look a little bit like my SIL.

The background was coloured with Distress Ink and I stamped a sentiment and flowers from the Concord and 9th Happy Day Stamp set.

One of the things I like best about digital stamps is that you can resize them, crop them and flip them. I cropped Emily for this card as I just wanted a head and shoulders view. I coloured with Promarkers and Prismacolour pencils.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #93 - L is for Lost and Found

I spy... Edna! It's all about 'Lost and Found' for our new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. We're revisiting 'lost' techniques, hunting-out older or unused stamps, and combing through our stash for a crafting trip down memory lane. 

My 'Lost' is a technique that I used a few times and always loved. It's a super-easy technique which involves masking-off the edges of the card with torn paper and inking in the space between. Like the Meerkat says: 'Simples!'

I stamped the VLVstamps image of the woman and carefully masked her with a post it note. Then I used my new Distress Oxides to create layers of ink and to over stamp a variety of images. This was my first proper attempt at using Oxides, and I'm still not feeling very confident with them. I bought a few additional colours after making this card so I can play and experiment a bit more.

Naughty or Nice Challenge #43 - Reminder

It's the 15th of September, so I'm back again with mid-month reminder inspiration for the current challenge over at Naughty or Nice!

Make it Crafty - Jacinta Sitting Dreaming

Hi everyone!

It's that time of the year when I begin to struggle to get decent photographs, so please forgive that today's card looks a little pale. 

This card features Make it Crafty's sweet Jacinta. Isn't she a beauty? I love the fact that she looks like she's sitting on a jetty, dangling a leg towards some cool water, on a hot sunny day. 

I loved colouring Jacinta with my Promarkers, and then adding a few low-lights in her hair with pencil crayons. Two dragonfly chippies add to the idea of a hot summer's day.

Such an easy card to make and such a delightful image to colour!

Make it Crafty - Chippies Rock!

I was totally delighted to receive a package of 'Chippies' from the lovely Zoe at Make it Crafty. To be honest, I never got into chipboard embellies because I didn't know how to colour them or how to use them. 

Well, let me tell you that Zoe's chippies are great! They're slim and dainty,  they colour beautifully and are very easy to fix to your card. I embossed the leaves with Versamark and gold embossing powder and coloured the dragon flies and wording with Distress Ink and a light dusting of embossing powder. So easy and so effective!

Zoe has a great selection of chipboard embellishments in her store and all items are very reasonably priced. I especially like the over-sized 'backing' layers that are available with some of the words to help make your word pop!   You can find everything here: Make it Crafty.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #92 - J is for Jumble

We're in a right Jumble over at SoSS this weekend! However, Edna is looking A-Mazing in all her multi-coloured finery and is super excited to see your collaged cards! One again Sistah Lee has done a brilliant job with the graphic.

I inadvertently set myself an additional challenge with my card, as I wanted to see whether I could create something that was CAS, yet still technically a collage. I'm not 100% sure I've achieved the brief, but I enjoyed the process!

The slender ankles and gorgeous shoes come courtesy of a model on the cover of the Summer 2017 Boden catalogue. I fussy cut and Distress Inked the legs, and set them to one side while I created a stenciled panel and a side panel on a 12 cm x 12 cm piece of card. I generated the wording on my PC and added some washi tape, beads and hearts to finish the card.

All very simple, and actually quite satisfying to do.

Card Chain Challenge Reveal - August 2017

Goodness, doesn't Reveal time swing around quickly!

It's time for another gorgeous reveal over at Card Chain Challenge!

For August we had the most fabulous colour combo (yummy!) and a sweet sketch to play with. Our themes were ships, dogs and friendship and our product and technique options were Memory Box, stencils and tea Bag folding.

Here's my card, which headed across to Marga in Spain. As you can see, I picked up the colour option, and also the themes of dogs and stencils. I've not made anything with MFT stamps for a while, so it was lovely to ink up this sweet little pup.

I feel that it's only fair to give a shout-out to the very talented Liz McGuire as her sweet little card (sitting proudly in my craftroom) was a huge influence for my creation!

My sender this month is Dee in Kenya. I'm still waiting for my card to arrive, but I'm sure it'll make it here soon!

Naughty or Nice Challenge #43 - Framed!

We've got another fun challenge for you over at Naughty or Nice Challenges today and it's all about FRAMES.

Just look at that cute pup in the window - doesn't Danielle just make the most wonderful graphics!

My card features one of the new, 'must have' cat stamps from Katzelkraft. I LOVE this guy!

To frame my centre panel , I used two rectangular dies and placed one inside the other, before running them through my Cuttlebug. The larger pink frame was made with oodles of Distress Ink and a variety of my old faithful Hero Arts stamps. I added some white dots with Hero Arts ink and stamped a few stars to pull the colour scheme together.

This is a lovely theme and the Troublemakers hope to see lots and lots of entries for this challenge... So join us, do!
