Christmas Kickstart Challenge #36 - Take #2

I just wanted to drop by with a card I made for Christmas Kickstart #36 but didn't have time to photograph before the challenge went live.

The frame is from Simon Says Stamp and the little bird and the branch are from a fabulous French company called Simply Graphic. The pale blue paper is the last of a much treasured sheet - feel my pain, people!

The current challenge has another week to run and our lovely elf, Marcia, has created a beautiful card as inspiration, so why not come on over and play along?

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #167 - O is for Ocean

Things are looking bad for our dear Edna in the brand new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - how will our heroine escape from this situation?  

No sharks on my card, just a lil' old lady chilling and soaking up the sun on a dreamy caribbean holiday. 

Not that I'm jealous of Mrs Ed from Art Impressions or anything! No, no, really I'm not...

Sadly, it doesn't look as if this stamp is available now, so I'm glad I grabbed her when I could as she is so much fun to colour. I decided to go for a slimline card and printed the wording on my PC before adding Mrs Ed.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #36 - Christmas Birds

Hi there, welcome to another Christmas Kickstart Challenge post. 

It's new challenge time and we have a new elf: meet Marcia from Marcia's Stampin' Pad! 

Marcia is one of my newer stamping friends, who I met through Christmas Kickstart. I'm a big fan of her cards and knew I wanted to invite her to don the elf hat and inspire us with her work.

Here's my first card - rather a different style for me, but I enjoyed playing with this sweet Doves die from Claritystamp. 

Card #2 features the same die, plus a sweet sentiment from Simply Graphic.

Oh, Edna, what are you like? Honestly, you just can't take this gal anywhere.

Yes, it's V is for Vulgar over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for the next fortnight. My effort is a little tame, but I had fun colouring these cuties from Art Impressions.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #35 - Snow is Falling

There's a brand new Christmas Kickstart Challenge on offer!

And there's a very talented new elf: Gay Peplow! 

Gay is a long term blogging buddy of mine and I'm delighted that she's our elf for this challenge. Our theme is:

Challenge #35 - Snow is Falling!

I made two cards for this challenge:

My first card was a quick and simple card made with Big and Bold Winter Wishes. This one really sparkles and catches the light as I used sparkly embossing powder.

Card #2 is very different. I was going to emboss smaller snowflakes for the top of the card, but then found this paper and decided to go with it as I like the pattern and colours. The image and sentiment come from one of my favourite sets: Concord and 9th - Winter Wear.

I thought stamping the sentiment in black would pull together the image and the words, but I wish I'd gone with blue instead as it just looks a little bit blah!

Snow, snowflakes, snowy scenes - it's all good, and we'd love to see what you can create over the next fortnight. Hope you can drop by and play along!

Card Chain Challenge Reveal July 2020

It's Card Chain Challenge Reveal time again and what a gorgeous Reveal it is too!

We had yummy colours, a great sketch and fun themes to play with:

Themes: Under the Sea, Cogs or friendship

Product Themes: Twine or Stencils

I grabbed the colours

and (in my head) decided that this MFT stamp looked like waves!

I sent my card to Dee in Kenya, and received this little gem from Arlene in California.
