Optional Wings

Shhhhh, don't tell my hubby about this card...

I was struggling BIG TIME with a romantic card for the hubster. I knew I was going with a traditional colour combo and a big heart, but just couldn't decide where I was headed after that. Then I discovered Penny Black Saturday Challenge was offering Optional WINGS. I had a light bulb moment and went in search of ducks...

This adorable stamp (Penny Black Slapstick - Loving and Hugging) is such an oldie that I can't find a link to one on sale anywhere. Such a shame as it's so much fun.

Thanks also to the following Challenges for pointing me towards the other elements of this card.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #251 - Heart

Addicted to Stamps and More - #460 Die Cuts and Stencils

After all that, I just hope he likes it!

Card Chain Challenge Reveal - February 2020

I'm a wee bit late with my Reveal post (again), but hopefully you'll cut me a little slack as my back is causing me problems again and I've been rather distracted!

The Card Chain Reveal for February looks amazing! Our 23 participants crafted their hearts out to create some truly lovely cards.

I sent my card to fellow Brit, Hilary. You should visit her blog to see the card she sent to Tina; it's a real stunner!

I had so much fun making this card for Hilary. The little fox is an oldie, but much loved image, from The Ton Stamps and the background is a fav Penny Black stamp. I tucked the moon behind the trees and did a little blending to create a Winter night sky.

I received this gorgeous card from Robyn in Australia.

If you'd like to become a link in our chain and creativity and friendship why not come and play along? You can see the sign-up post for March 2020 here.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #147 - T is for Tea

This time the sistahs have really pulled it outta the bag with this challenge as it's all about TEA! (See what I did there? Tea... tea bag!). While I do enjoy an occasional coffee I am powered by tea on a daily basis so this challenge had my name on it big time!

I love this cute stamp called Cup of Java from Penny Black and couldn't resist pairing this sweet girl with a funny saying (Thanks, Pinterest!). Kinda quirky, 'cos that's how I roll!

Hope you'll come and play along with us!

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #21 - Woodland Creatures

Happy October!  It turns out that there are now less than 80 days until Christmas - wow.

It's time for a new challenge and to welcome a new elf! For this challenge I'm delighted to be joined by the lovely Sarah from Funky Fossil Designs!

For Challenge #21 we'd love to see cards featuring

I've had the idea for this card in my head for ages, but didn't know whether I could pull it off or not. I combined two Penny Black Slapstick images and got busy with my Promarkers. I enjoyed colouring the images and learned a lot in the process.

Here's a close up of those cute critters. I just wish Wink of Stella was more visible in daylight as this card looks so sweet and twinkly under the light of my lamps.

My second card features a sweet little character from The Ton. I think we can tell that he's super ready for Christmas in his sparkly bow tie.

There's a very special Random Raffle prize for this challenge, so why not head on over and find out all the details...

Well, anything goes!

It was launch day over at SCSC yesterday as Wendy and the DT girls showcased her newly released collection of manga inspired stamps. As I live close enough to Wendy's shop to be able to visit I have actually seen some of these gorgeous designs in real life... and I've also bagged myself a cute Italian Girl stamp!

SCSC Challenge #101 is 'Anything goes' so I thought I'd enter this little anniversary card that I've made for my sister-in-law and her hubby. They are celebrating 10 years of marriage this week. I cannot believe that their lovely wedding day was soooooooooo long ago!
The cute ducks are a Penny Black Slapstick stamp. I've not used one before and have to say that I am very impressed. The stamp gave a really good, crisp image and stuck perfectly to the perspex block. I coloured with Promarkers and Versacolour ink.

Challenge #130 at Cute Card Thursday is Flutter and Tweet. These guys might flap and quack but they are still birds so can waddle over and join in the fun!
Finally I have just one thing to say: OK, so who stole the weekend?????
Oh well, at least I did alot of housework and made two cards.
Happy crafting everyone!
