Friend(s).

Its good to have friends. Whether they are my IRL friends or my 'virtual' friends I count myself lucky to have people around me who will make me laugh and pick me up when I am down.
The challenge over at CASology this week is Friend. It was also the Less is More theme last week but I've missed the boat with that one!
I stamped the Darkoom door quote in black Versafine and clear embossed before getting inky with a range of Distress inks and a stencil. Some matting and layering and I called it job done!

I'm really taken with this quote and have some other ideas spinning around in my head about how I'll use it next. If you want to see some FAB-U-LOUS cards head on over to CASology to see what the DT girls and the challenge entrants have created. There's some stunning stuff on show!

Wishing you elf and happiness all year long.

I adore this little Stamping Bella elf. Isn't he cute?

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to try and play along at Less is More more often. Each Saturday I look for the challenge theme and come up with a few ideas but then real life gets in the way and before I know it, its Saturday again!

LIM Week 206 is all about 'New Beginnings' and even though its a dreaded 'one layer week' I'm playing along! I printed the greeting using my PC and cut the card to size before stamping this sweet little character in the bottom corner to balance with the text. I then coloured with Promarkers and pencils.

Finally, I'd like to welcome Sid as my newest follower! Its great to have you on board, Sid and I hope you'll enjoy visiting my blog as much as I always enjoy dropping by at Harpies Crafty Corner.

Happy crafting everyone!

An elf isn't just for Christmas...

Happy New Year everyone!
Let's get the new year off to a great start with something NEW over at Naughty or Nice Challenges. That's right, this month we want to see your naughty or nice cards featuring something new. This could be a new stamp, a new technique, new materials or tools... anything new to welcome in a new year!

My card features lots of lovely new goodies: adorable elves Buddy and Jolly (my newest purchase from Stampingbella), subtle detailing using the Magical Background stamp from Hero Arts (newly purchased and currently in the sale at Craft Mojo), gorgeous new twine (thanks, Tobi) and my new Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables by Lawn Fawn!

I fell head over heels in 'stamp love' with these little guys when I saw them on Alice's blog a few weeks ago. I knew this stamp would be perfect for a little New Year's sarcasm as Buddy and Jolly look like they're having a conversation!

As always my teamies have created some fabulous inspiration to get you started for the new 'NEW' challenge so why not head over and take a look!

Wishing you happiness...

After two weeks with the 'flu and a couple of days without internet access I'm finally here to wish everyone 'Season's Greetings!'

Just looked out of the window to discover it is snowing... ALOT!
Keep warm and happy and healthy... and creative too!

A case of CASE-ing...

Boo hoo, I'm poorly again and have had to succumb and rest up for the day. Thankfully, I have my PC and Blogland to keep me company.

I thought I'd share a little card I made after seeing the super talented Jennifer Mullens' adorable make in the November Craft Stamper Magazine. I can't say this card is 'Inspired by...' as it is an out-and-out CASE but I thought I'd share it as it shows what you can achieve with similar sized stamps to the ones Jennifer used.

I'm loving my new Stitched Border dies as they give a beautifully professional finish. I printed the sentiment on the computer. The little cups are from Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latte set which is getting plenty of use right now.

I thought I'd used the colour palette from the current  Less is More Challenge  but having just opened the site to link up I'm disappointed to discover I've chosen the wrong shade of green. I hope the girl's will forgive me as I purposefully picked my Promarkers to enable me to play along. Doh!

Have a happy day everyone, I'm off to climb into my PJs and return to bed!

November Card Chain Challenge Reveal

It's reveal time again for the Card Chain Challenge.
I sent this little slice of craziness to my recipient, Nicole in the Netherlands:

I doubt if you can tell but the little The Alley Way bird in the foreground has Diamond Glaze 'tears' in his eyes!

I received a totally gorgeous and oh, so girly card from my long time blogging buddy Monika in Germany. You can see Monika's card and the creations of the other participants over at Deborah's blog. There won't be a December Challenge due to the holiday season but you can sign up for the January Challenge after Sunday 7th December here. As always, a very big 'thank you' to Deborah for all the hard work she undertakes in organising this fun challenge.

Happy crafting everyone!
