The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #87 - A is for Arty

It's mixed-media time over at the Sisterhood for our new challenge.

To be totally honest, I wasn't looking forward to this challenge as I've never considered myself to be a 'mixed media' kinda gal! Once I'd stopped panicking, I decided to use a favourite Vera Lane image; colouring with Promarkers and Prismacolour pencils. I adore Janet's quirky, fun designs.
The background was created with stamps, paints and stencils, and a Waffle Flower die. I LOVED creating the layered background and brayered away to my heart's content... I think I may just be a mixed media girl after all!

I'm pretty pleased with result, and only hope that the recipient likes it!

My super-talented Sistahs are far more confident and competent when it comes to mixed media, so why not go take a look and come get all arty with us for Challenge #87!

Naughty or Nice Challenge #40 - Anything Goes!

There are still ten whole days left for you to play along with us over at Naughty or Nice this month!

For anyone not in the know, our June challenge is a Blogland favourite: Anything Goes!

I'm sharing the card I've made for my Dad for Father's day. I really enjoyed making this card for the May Card Chain Challenge, so decided to try a masculine version. Try as I might, I just can't get any sentiments to look 'right' on this card. I'll probably try again before next week, but not matter what die-cuts, banners etc I add, it just looks wrong!

Our June Challenge is Challenge #40, and we are delighted to have our sponsors, Bugaboo, with us again, plus a random pick prize of an Art Impressions stamp.

We'd love you to join us!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #86 - D is for Drunk!

Yes, it's a favourite subject for the Sistahs this month: D is for Drunk. I'm delighted to see that Edna is all prepared, with a ciggy and a bottle of Voddy!

This card is en route to my dear friend, Mo. Here she is enjoying a cheeky cocktail, before catching a show and heading to a swanky restaurant. And yes, she really is every bit as much fun as she looks!

I decided to have a little paper-piecing fiesta with this card, although I did have to think really hard about which layer went where! I always enjoy paper piecing, especially when I find those perfect little scraps that make a dress or an armchair, as happened here. I do love these Art Impressions ladies.

Wanna play along with the Sistahs???

May Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Have we got a great reveal for you over at Card Chain Challenge this month, or have we got a great reveal??? Head on over and take a look... I think it's a beaut this month.

Just look at the gorgeous colours and great sketch we were given to work with:

Our theme options were Stars, trees or Friendship and our product options were Washi Tape and Origami.

I loved the soft muted colours, but decided to go with the theme of Origami rather than pick up the sketch option. I Googled Origami dresses and created this sweet, little summer dress by carefully following a step-by-step guide. There's plenty out there if you want to give it a try yourself! Wouldn't this make a fabulous Mother's Day card?

I don't often do Shabby Chic, but it just felt right for this card.

I sent my card to the lovely Christi in Colarado, USA.

I was blown away to receive this fabulous card from LaVon in Illinois, USA . If you think it looks beautiful on the screen you should see it IRL! You can find more of her gorgeous work on Flickr or by visiting her blog.

LaVon is one seriously accomplished card maker. She's gone with the sketch, the colours and the theme of stars! This one shimmers and sparkles and is a dream of a card.

We've got about twenty regular players at CCC, but would love to see a few new or returning participants, so please come and join us as we create a global community of friendship and creativity one card at a time! The June Sign-Up still has a few days to run.

Naughty or Nice Challenge #40 - Anything Goes!

Well, well, what could be better than a curious kangaroo graphic to start things off for Challenge #40 over at Naughty or Nice? Danielle always picks the best pictures!

Once again, we're delighted to have Bugaboo Stamps on board as our sponsor for this month's challenge. There's a prize for our favourite Naughty card and our favourite Nice card, plus a Random Pick prize too!

Here's my offering, using Bugaboo images' cute digi Morning Coffee.

I decided to play along with the current Bugaboo Challenge, but my colours are a bit 'off' due to the camera and my lack of relevant papers and Promarkers. Its the thought that counts!

I really hope you can join us for our challenge at Naughty or Nice... We love your 'Nice' cards but we LOVE it when you guys get Naughty!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #85 - B is for Beach!

Edna's enjoying a little downtime at the beach for this challenge! Great costume... kinda wish they still sold those little beauties as my lumps and bumps need serious camouflage these days. I wouldn't mind venturing out of the shadows if I could wear one of these.

My card is short on snark this week, but is BIG on silly for Challenge #85!

I couldn't resist a little altering to get this cute Lawn Fawn alpaca beach ready; then got busy with liquid applique for added fun! The sweet paper is from a Carta Bella pack called Summer Lovin', and the 'Bon Voyage' is from a Lawn Fawn set of the same name.

You are going to love, love, love the DT inspiration for this challenge; the Sistahs are oh, soooooooo snarky!
