The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #204 - Q is for Quirky

We're delighted to be playing Q is for Quirky over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and Edna is wearing her best new hat and scarf for the occasion!

I was in the mood for a little black and white number and broke out Kind Soul by W Plus 9 as I think the flowers in this set are lovely left uncoloured. I stamped and die cut two lots of flowers and stuck them around the wording. I carefully removed the excess with a pair of scissors which gave me enough 'spare' to fully frame the wording. I cut with a rectangular die to tidy up and pull everything together.

We're joined by the fabulously snarky Beverly for this challenge and I know you'll love her card - it's hilarious! The sisters have also gone to town on this theme, so please come over, take a look and play along.

Everyone should have a friend like Gail aka Ionabunny of Crafty Nomad fame!

So, I was wanting to make a birthday card, but Mr Mojo had packed up and left town. A little FB chat with my mate Gail and hey presto, she's found me a sketch to get the ball rolling, and a card is made within the hour. Thanks so much, Gail, you're one in a million!

I mangled this sketch:

And took my colour inspiration from Seize the Birthday where the Toppings are Dichromatic 

and Colour Hues who're playing with Navy and Pink for Challenge #35. The DT cards are fabulous on all three sites  - I really wish I could make cards like those guys do!

The stencil and the flower stamps are from MFT, and I accidently mixed my own blend of Distress Ink when I used a Festive Berries covered sponge in the Picked Raspberry ink. I liked the combo, so grabbed a craft sheet and mixed-up a little more!

When Santa Hits the Dance Floor!

 

I'm so happy to have finally found a little time to make something for Diane's Snippets Challenge Playground.

To be honest, this little card went off in a very different direction from what I'd planned after I spotted this snippet of paper from a Tim Holtz Christmas pad. I instantly saw dance floor and this was the result!

Who knew that Santa was a John Travolta fan... She said showing her age.

Let's Squash It! Challenge #17 - Grasshopper Green Reminder

It's reminder time at Let's Squash It! as we continue to play with the colour green, an insect of your choice AND those all important embossing folders!

We're thrilled to be joined by the lovely Marianne as our Empress this month. If you take a peek here you'll see her gorgeous card, plus the little bit of fabulousness that Gail created too.

Here's what I made as my second card for this challenge.

To be honest, I followed a very similar formula to my first card, and let this beautiful EF from Altenew do all the work. My insect is a tiny Hero Arts ladybird from a set I bought very early on in my cardmaking career. I don't think I've ever used this little stamp before. After embossing and inking the cardstock I stamped the ladybird on the stalk of the daisy, and then stamped and fussy cut another body. This looks quite effective IRL as I added some Glossy Accents to the ladybird for a little shine.

We've got three beautiful cards in the gallery for this challenge, but to be honest, Marianne, Gail and I would love to see a few more and very much hope you'll come and join the fun. Don't forget, there's always a random prize from our fabulous Prize Vault on offer for one lucky player! 

Christmas Kickstart Challenge Reminder

 

It's time for a wee reminder over at Christmas Kickstart as we continue to play our February challenge The Sentiment takes Centre Stage.

We have the lovely Jen as our inspiration for this theme and just look what she made for the challenge!

Jen's fabulous card ticked soooo many boxes for me and I just wanted to CASE the heck outta it!

I never need much of an excuse to break out the Katzelkraft cat stamps. I thought it would be fun to use this big 'Ho, ho, ho' die and add a fun MFT sentiment. It's a bit busy, but fun and colourful.

There's still 14 days left to play along with this challenge, and we have a fab prize from Rudolph, so why not come and join the fun!

Lost Coast Designs Challenge #137 - Think Pink!

 

Hi there, I'm sneaking in with a day and a bit to go until the current challenge closes at Lost Coast Designs.

Isn't this crow a stunner? He's from AALL & Create and is called, very aptly in my opinion, Dashing Crow.

The other stamps are MFT Flower Silhouettes and Simon Says You Matter. If you look closely, I've changed the 'C' in You Rock My World to an 'O'... just to be a little bit punny!

This card is for the hubster and I do wonder if he'll spot the alteration.
