If you're following along with Lindsey's Hop you should have arrived here from The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.
Today, we are hopping in memory of our dear friend and fellow cardmaker, Lindsey Martin-Penny, who sadly passed away last year from a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer.
I will always feel blessed to have been a member of Lindsey's extensive friendship group. She was kind, witty and wise, and I miss our frequent email and FB chats very much. We were both school librarians and had battled the same battles for funding and recognition, and I found her clear-headed common sense so helpful during my final years in the job. Her tremendous sense of humour was something else I will always treasure.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Lindsey’s husband Burke thought it would be a great time to sell off her many craft supplies, with all of the proceeds going towards Lindsey’s Legacy Fund for Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer Research in cooperation with The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
The purpose of this hop will be to honour Lindsey, celebrate her life and all that she loved, as well as help spread the word to raise funds for clear cell ovarian cancer research. You can help in one of several ways!
Purchase a Flat Rate Mailer stuffed with loads of fabulous craft supplies. These can only be mailed within Canada and there will be no tax receipts provided with the purchase of these boxes. A box of craft supplies would make a great gift for yourself, a crafty friend or a child/classroom! For details about the boxes and how you can go about purchasing one, please email lindseyslegacyfund@rogers.com with the message "Craft Box" or visit Lindsey’s original blog, Bashful Blogging. Every craft box purchase in September will be entered into a draw and one lucky winner will win a $100 gift certificate to Scrap ‘n Stamp.
During the month of September, shop at Scrap ‘n Stamp using the code LINDSEY10 at checkout. You will get 10% off your purchase (sale items excluded) and Scrap ‘n’ Stamp will donate 10% of their proceeds to Lindsey’s Legacy Fund.
Any donations over $15 made directly to Lindsey’s Legacy Fund will receive a digital tax receipt.

So sad to lose a friend, Jo - just love your cheers card to honor Lindsey!
A beautiful post to remember your blog friend. A wonderful card, beautifully coloured, love how you used the purple and red.

Cheers sistah!
A lovely tribute to our beloved sistah xoxoxo
I enjoyed reading your memory of Lindsey. She could be snarky as heck but yes, she was also a wealth of solid information. You did a great job of masking and coloring on your perfect card.
Your tribute captures Lindsey to a 't', Jo - especially her intelligence (her vast knowledge dazzled me on numerous occasions), creativity, wit and yes, snark! Even though your friendship was of an online nature, as was mine, she still managed to weave herself into the very fabric of our being. True friend that Lindsey; a true friend. Your card is perfect; her Saturday night cocktails definitely were highlights of her week. Sending you big hugs and much love as we share in the emptiness that comes from losing her, yet the joy in having known her.
hugs~carol
Jo, This card could not be any more perfect for our dear friend, Lindsey. She was one of a kind and sounds like she helped you, along with so many others. You captured her perfectly when you said her clear-headed common sense and quick wit. Thank you for joining us at Color Hues and take care.
