With a little help from my friends!

Hi everyone, and a very happy mother's day to all you moms out there!

I haven't managed any crafting this weekend as I am full of cold/have severe hay fever - I'm not sure which, but its horrible.

I thought I'd share the fun from school last week, when we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the opening of the school. Sadly I can't share any of the children's costumes, but trust me they were amazing. Each year group was given a decade from 1950 onwards....

How fabulous?

And finally, here's the finishing touch for that unloved card from my previous post. Thanks to everyone who offered helpful suggestions on how to improve it. I opted for some faux stitching to pull things together.

Have fun!

Just not feeling the love...

No, its true... I'm not feeling the love for this card.

It has lots of good ingredients: Distress inks, my favourite Hero Arts butterflies, Wink of Stella sparkle (totally invisible on the pics), My Mind's Eye 'Girly Gerty' stamps and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink... but its just not happening for me.

Mmmmmm, what can I do to make it 'work'? I'd love to hear your thoughts my creative friends!

On a happier note my lovely hubby took me to see the show Let it be last night. I'm a big fan of the Beatles so sang along with every song and had a fabulous evening. If you get the chance to see the show I'd recommend it as it was great fun and a real nostalgia trip.

Happy crafting everyone!

Happy, happy!

Good morning Blogland, I hope you're all having a happy day!

We were up with the birds in our house this morning... well, actually we were up with a meowing black and white cat before it was properly light. I think he wanted to chase things in the garden nice and early, so that he could fall asleep for the rest of the day in the conservatory. At least this means I've got loads done.

Here's a super cute LOTV image that I love. Isn't this the happiest little dog? I think the expression on his face is so cute. I've made this card for my friend Dawn's birthday. She isn't into 'fussy', so I've left it super plain and CAS... which happily means I can link up to The Crafting Cafe March Challenge for clean and simple cards.

I'll leave you with this lovely Pharrell Williams song to wish you a happy Sunday!

Dainty Dancing

What a beautiful Spring day! I've had a lovely time pottering in the garden and enjoying the sunshine. Just what we need after all the rain and damp we've had here in the UK recently.
I also had time for a little card making session.

Don't you just love this sweet little Lili of the Valley stamp? She's called Dainty dancing, and I think she's a real cutie.
I love these Springtime Echo Park papers, but sadly only have a few pages left on the pad. I keep checking eBay to see if I can pick up a replacement but haven't been successful yet. *Sigh*.

Hope you enjoy what is left of the weekend. Big hugs and a 'happy crafting' to you all!

February Card Chain Challenge reveal!

Hi all, I'm a little late to the party for the February reveal as most participants unveiled their cards yesterday!

I decided to use Deborah's suggested colour palette and the theme of friendship for this super simple card which I sent to the lovely Dawn in NZ:

I was delighted to receive this gorgeous card from the lovely Monika in Germany.
I've 'known' Dawn and Monika as blog friends for quite a long time. It was good to catch up with a little email chat as well as sending and receiving cards.

Why not head over to Deborah's and sign-up for her March CCC. I've already got my name down as I always enjoy this challenge. Deborah's got a great colour combo as one of the March challenge options and I'm loving her sketch option too.

Happy crafting everyone!

Fly High!

Happy Spring everyone!
The sun is shining and the crocus flowers are fluttering gently in the breeze in our back garden.

Today, I'm sharing a card using this beautiful set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I made this card for my friend and colleague Jayne. Jayne teaches dance where I work and last week I took mom to see her latest show at the school. The children were fabulous, the costumes amazing and as always Jayne's choreography was brilliant.

Jayne loves sparkle so I added a tiny red gem and some glitter to the centre of the feathers, and used holographic paper for the layering.

Have a great weekend everyone!
