Now where's my cake?

 Another day, another card...I know, it surprised me too. 

Just look at this little cross-patch from Visible Image - so cute! I paired him with a sentiment from Purrfect Sentiments by Waffle Flower plus a stenciled and splattered background so I could play a few different challenges.

With a Cherry on Top!

I had the chance to sit down and make a card this morning! Oh, the joy and relaxation of colouring, stamping, cutting...

And this is what I made:

I needed a little inspiration to get the creative cogs turning and was delighted to find this challenge over at AAA Birthday Game #65 - Background Focus. 

I knew which stamp would be perfect for this challenge: Darkroom Door Word Block Stamp -  Birthday and I stamped in two different Altenew inks to add a little interest. The tiny Penny Black mice were a joy to colour, and I love how they are bustling along to bring the fun.

My card is rectangular in shape, so I'm linking-up at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where their Anything Goes Challenge has an Anything but a Square option. Nice!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #90 - Reminder

It's mid-month reminder time over at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge and for the whole of September we're in great company with Jenny from My Paper Epiphany as our elf as we play Embossing Folder Fun!

 

Jenny created a stunning card to inspire us all...

I, for one was blown away by Jenny's card and knew I wanted to attempt the same technique for myself. 

To be honest, I'm not quite sure that I like my card. I also made a version using black as the colour you swipe across, and liked it even less. Hats off to Jenny for making such a stunning card for our challenge - the technique is harder than it looks and she did a great job!

My second card for this Reminder is this one:

I got smoochy/swipey with some Picket Fence Distress Ink to make the reindeers 'pop', and then simply added a Hero Arts stamp from a very old set that's lost it's packaging. So quick, and so simple - isn't that just one of the joys of using embossing folders!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #254 - A is for Autumn

 

The Sisterhood played S is for Summer last month, so naturally it's now time to play A is for Autumn. Autumn, Fall or 'Spider Season' can be such a beautiful time of the year and I decided to ink up this gorgeous Spellbinder embossing folder to try and capture some of the colour palette of the season. 

The cute little eight-legged guys are from a Penny Black stamp I found on an Etsy site a while back. 

My fabulous sistahs, and our wonderful guests, have created some awesome autumnal magic to inspire you all, so please come and play along. 

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #90 - Embossing Folder Fun!

Hi guys, it's time for another Christmas Kickstart Challenge and I'm delighted to welcome the very talented Jenny Martin from My Paper Epiphany as our elf.

You are going to LOVE the super-stylish card Jenny's created for our challenge, so please head over and take a look. I've been following this lovely lady for quite a long time and was thrilled when she agreed to be our elf. 

I went very, very CAS for my first card. I do love the pattern of this Spellbinders EF, and decided to leave it in white and just add a tiny Hero Arts image.

For my second card I decided to play with the same EF, but to bring in some colour instead. 

Just look how a little Distress inking changes things up a gear. Embossing folders just offer such versatility, don't you think? 

Rudolph has been shopping for cute stamps and is happy to be offering this cute set from Heffy Doodle as his Random Raffle Prize for September. It's such a pity that this sweet store had to close it's doors.

Card Chain Challenge Reveal - August 2024

It's the second of the month and time for the August 2024 Card Chain Challenge Reveal!

We had 24 lovely participants who exchanged cards across the globe this month, and also welcomed one new player, Lyneen in Washington. 

 

All the cards exchanged this month used at least one of the following options:

Colour Palette Option

(Exact matching is not required)

Sketch Option

(Orient as desired.)

Theme Options:  Music / Funny / Friendship

Product / Technique Options: Tissue Paper / Rocker Card

I grabbed the colours, the sketch (sort of) and the 'funny' to create this card for my recipient Marianne in Greece. 

I've had this stamp for a while, but hadn't found an opportunity to get it inked-up until now. I wish Acid Drops and Whatnots sets were still available as they're just my taste. The pool stencil is from MFT. 

My August sender is Robyn Oliver in Australia and just look what she made!
