The Sisterhood of Snarky Stamps Challenge #102 - F is for Farm Life

Another fabulous graphic heralds the start of a new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

For this challenge it's all about Farm Life, so I broke out this wonderful little Stampin' Up piggy to create a wee motivational canvas for myself. We all need a little reminder to reach for the stars occasionally, right?

I did some uber-simple watercolouring and mounted the image onto some black card before adding to an existing canvas I created a few years ago. She is sweet and twinkly IRL, but we all know about Wink of Stella and photography...

Why not drop by and visit Edna and the sistahs down on the farm, we'd love to see you!

Naughty or Nice Challenges #47 - Reminder Post

It's mid-month reminder time over at Naughty or Nice as we continue with our current challenge: It's a Celebration!

My card is a clean and simple card is a masculine make, and one which proves that I am as rude to my male friends as I am to my female friends! I spotted this image on Pinterest... Or a Google image search... or somewhere on the internet, and I can't find it again to credit the designer. If I find it later I'll add it in.

I die-cut the image and then layered it up. Very quick and simple, and very snarky too!

And did I mention there are prizes this month over at Naughty or Nice? We have two lovely sets of mitten dies for our lucky winners. The picture below doesn't do them justice as they are very sweet and dainty.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #101 - T is for Technique

It's hard to believe that we're about to launch into our first challenge of 2018 over at The Sisterhood, but it's totally true!

This challenge is called 'T is for Technique' and required more than a little head scratching from Yours truly as I wasn't sure which technique to showcase. After some though, and a little chat with my mom (who, luckily, is a fellow crafter) I decided to go with gilding.

I used an 'oldie but goodie' Cuttlebug embossing folder to create a pattern on some black card and then used some gilding wax (thanks, Mom) to create a metallic effect. I also did a little heat embossing to create the sentiment and to cover the die-cut bird in gold. I've never used gilding wax before, but enjoyed learning a new technique. If you ever use gilding wax, you'll quickly discover that a little goes a long way. I found this Crafter's Companion video very helpful in getting me started, but there are heaps of really good videos available out there to choose from.

As always, The Snarkettes have created some fabulous cards which you won't want to miss. We've had a blast with this challenge and can't wait to see your creations too!

Naughty or Nice challenge #47 - It's a Celebration!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that 2018 has got off to a great start!
The Troublemakers are celebrating anything and everything with this challenge. You name the celebration, make the card and join the fun... Yes, it's that simple.

I decided to celebrate the new year and created this card which is gloriously sparkly in real life. The firework stamp is an oldie from The Rubber Stamp Gallery and the Judkins sparkle embossing powders have lain unused from the day I bought them. They are wonderfully twinkly and coordinate beautifully with the blue and green layers. The die cut numbers are from Mama Elephant. I decided to arrange them in a playful manner, rather than a straight line, but I think the '2' slipped in the die-cut machine. Never mind, it's a handmade card after all!

We'd love you to come and join us over at Naughty or Nice. There are some lovely, fun cards from the Troublemakers and there may even be prizes on offer too!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #100 - N is for Naughty Christmas!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are celebrating something of a milestone (Challenge #100!)  with another fun challenge!

I spotted Naughty Santa on this post from my fellow Troublemaker, Margo. I knew it was just the image I wanted for my N is for Naughty card! Santa is a clip art image, which I coloured with pencil crayons to make the colours a little more vibrant. I created the sentiment on my PC and I have to say the font looks just perfect with that image.

My Sistahs have created some brilliant cards for this challenge (we're such a naughty bunch!) so why not drop by and share a cheeky giggle with Edna and the gang!

Naughty or Nice Challenge #46 - Reminder

I just can't resist a good chuckle over Danielle's naughty kitty, which definitely has all four feet firmly planted in 'Camp Naughty'. I seriously think she should make a stamp outta this image!

My card is definitely in 'Camp Nice' for this challenge, although I have been a little bit naughty in that I've CASEd my SoSS teamie Jane's gorgeous card.

I know, lovely isn't it! How lucky (for me) that we both have the same Tim Holtz embossing folder. I added a circular MFT die-cut to make the focal point of my card and spanned the width of the card with leftover DP, rather than a stylish banner.
This design would also work well as a birthday card as those lovely people at MFT have also designed a 'Happy birthday' die-cut in the same style.

I enjoyed making this card so much that I tried it in a different colour palette.

I quite like this version, but I think the traditional colors give my first card a bit more ooomph!

The Troublemakers have whipped-up some fabulous mid-month inspiration, so why not head over and take a look? There are some beautiful cards to enjoy in the linky gallery, and we'd love you to join our final challenge of the year.
