No kidding, April Fool's Day or not, it's time for a brand new challenge over at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge!
There's a rather fabulous guest as our April Elf as we welcome on board the very talented Bobby from Bits and Pieces. If you've not visited Bobby's beautiful blog thus far I'd urge you to do so as it's a treasure trove of gorgeousness. This lady certainly knows what she's doing with card, inks, die cuts and pens.
The theme Bobby has chosen is...
Challenge #97 - Positively Poinsettias
We'd love to see a poinsettia or poinsettias on your cards for our April Challenge. Nice and simple, and so much scope for making something gorgeous.
I don't have many poinsettia stamps or dies in my stash, but I know a lady who does, so off I went to raid my mom's stash. Thanks Mom, you're a star!
My mom's made some gorgeous cards using the Sue Wilson Poinsettia Mini Striplet, and it's a great pity that she never photographs her work. Anyhoo, here's my take on the theme:
Here's a close-up of the centre panel. I wanted to create an embossed style focal point, so I didn't layer my die-cut. It looks really nice IRL.
I flipped the die before cutting the second panel to give as close to a mirror image effect as possible for the two panels. I hoped this would guide the eye to the centre and the greeting, and it seems to have worked. This is a really pretty card and I can imagine it would look equally lovely with coloured papers or different sorts of card behind the die cut panels.
Rudolph's Random Raffle Prize for this month is a super cute set of Sizzix dies.

Such a great idea to have the poinsettia rows mirror, Jo - gorgeous card!! And lucky you had mom nearby!!
Your card looks very noble and the mirroring of the border was well done.
This reminds me of a beautiful lace tablecloth, Jo. So lovely!
